Phil Hay's take on Saturday's game. http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co....ted-2-phil-hay-s-big-match-analysis-1-8347551 Here's a flavour: “They’re a massive name coming into our territory,” said Adam Hammill before Leeds United’s visit to Oakwell, “but it’s time to show them who’s boss.” It felt that way as Barnsley fought Leeds in the stands before overrunning the club in an absorbing derby. This was Oakwell as United remember it: brutal, full-blooded and hard to crack."
this is my favourite bit Monk’s defence failed to set itself quickly and when Maurice Watkins crossed to Ryan Kent, the winger turned Lewie Coyle oldest winger we've ever had?
Maurice Watkins??? Interesting read but isn't the Yorkshire Post supposed to be for ALL of Yorkshire not just Leeds?
If anyone questions their bias, read this one.. http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co....y-verdicts-on-whites-oakwell-defeat-1-8347566
The Yorkshire Evening Post is a Leeds based title. The Marley Watkins typo on The Yorkshire Post site has now been corrected.
Monk comes across as a poor loser. All about how badly they played, as if they're normally world beaters. Bemoaning a penalty they didn't get but no mention of the one they did being outside the area, and also saying they deserved something out of the game. Classless ****er. Its worth reading the comments from the Leeds fans underneath the article and it reflects what Ive heard from of Leeds fans who thought the were well short on the night and not impressed with the way Leeds had played. They all speak highly of our faster, younger, hungrier players.
Newspaper needs to change WEST YORKSHIRE EVENING POST officail man of match for sky sports Josh Scowen
