Was as vital in the 1999/2000 as Conor Hourihane has been this season. Without him a squad with ***** like Keith Brown and David Tuttle would not have finished fourth. We sold him the next season and our goals scored went from 88 to 49. I think we would see a similar decline if we were to lose Hourihane. That's how instrumental he is for us. No one in the squad is capable of filling his shoes. In my humble opinion of course.
Very insightful, losing your best player makes you worse. Thank god you made a thread about it or no one would have ever known.
Fully agree, he is the key to this squad without a doubt and personally I think even the person we bring inhim to replace him permanently whether be in the next week or in the summer will need time to get to the current level he is at ATM. Although Scowen has more footballing ability in his tash than Keith Brown had in his entire body
Perhaps we should have been satisfied with just one win at Wembley then non of this would be happening.
I'm so glad you have something to whinge about. Can I tune in Radio Sheffield at 6pm tomorrow, for your insight. Must be due.
The OP is correct. I just have far more faith in us to replace wisely now than I did in 2000. Judging by the way our system works, we'll have had possible targets earmarked since the summer. Plus, I reckon the current side minus Hourihane would beat the Bassett side minus Hignett. Far more balanced.
