Simon Johnson in the 04/05 season? Came on loan, he was a striker and was absolutely *****. He did nothing all season then scored 2 worldies against Oldham on the final game of the season.

Allan Clarke! The man who is responsible for kickstarting the success we have today. For years upon years beforehand we had been terrible and languishing in the 4th division. Clarke changed the mentality of the club and things snowballed from there.

The ones who complain now should have been around pre 1978!!

The arrival of Allan Clarke was a big shock to most. He hadn't been out of the England side all that long and was still a first team player at Leeds, though coming to the end of that. What rankled with me though was the fact that they took £55,000 off us for someone who was going to be a player manager. Most clubs would have said "good luck Allan and thanks - here's a free transfer". But not Leeds! That fee may not seem much now but it took some finding for us back in 1978.

The Clarke Revolution though was fantastic. He literally turned the club upside down and gave it a good shake. His playing days were nearly done but he still gave us some thrills (hat trick against Port Vale for example) and looked like the First Division player that he recently was. In the end though, just like Danny Wilson with Wednesday, his head was turned as soon as Leeds came calling. He couldn't help himself when they asked him back as their manager, and he failed like many others have since.

Thank goodness we had Norman Hunter though to carry on the good work. Another ex-Leeds but we got him via Bristol City.

Who knows. We all thought Morsy was a done deal though, so I'm not assuming owt till I see him with one of barry's biscuits.

Talking to a load at work though, says he's in the <1m and c5k a week bracket. So terms shouldn't be a problem

Not directly from leeds to us, but super John Hendrie.

I was doing a job in wakey for a leeds fan when we signed him, and he said jokingly, "that's you promoted this season then!"

    Great player.

This is the kind of signing we could do with before next Tuesday. Or... go with what we have, top ten finish this season and then really go for it next season. Start with five successive wins, just like before, and then it's Premier League here we come (again).
