Hourihane is one of the best midfielders in this league so Villa were forced to pay more for him and in Bree they paid for undoubted potential. Winnall is a good goalscorer in the right system but we didn't have the same aces to play when negotiating his sale so it was inevitable that he was going to go cheap.

Well said, Extremely Northern! We should most definitely not sell any more key players when we are only 1 point off a play-off spot, whatever the offer. Promotion is worth £100 million. If we'd kept Conor, I'd have fancied us quite strongly for a play-off spot. We still have a realistic hope now, but if Roberts goes, then, in my opinion, we have no hope at all.

 

I don't give a rat's backside if you think he's not good enough for Chelsea u23s.
The rest of us know that he's good enough for us. For the team we support rather than constantly undermine. That he's good enough to anchor a defence that's seen us win a promotion, a cup, and compete at the top end of the Championship. All within 2 years of playing non league football.
And, as has been pointed out, at least two premier league clubs have shown interest in him. Silly me though. I should remember that all their coaching staff don't know as much about football as you.
