Do you get any pleasure at all watching these players give their all, shedding sweat and blood, when wearing a Barnsley shirt? I honestly don't get the sarcastic petty criticism of Roberts given his contribution to Barnsley. He's by no means flawless but you seem to want Barnsley and it's players to be some sort of football utopia.

The sum of the parts of our team, including individual limitations, over the last 13 months has produced some of the most exhilarating football I've seen from any Barnsley side I've watched.

I'm looking forward to matches with the same excitement at 42 years old as when I was 6 or 7 and enjoying it as much as I've ever done.

Agree 100%. We can't let anybody else leave now as 4 our starting XI have gone. To lose a 5th and so half of the team is a step too far.

There's no pressure to sell Roberts now as he is under contract. Whatever fee we could get now will be the same in the summer, if not more, and he's our new captain.

To me Roberts is worth miles more than Mawson. He's the player id hate to lose most. He's what we have lacked for years. no nonesense defender who wins almost every header. His passing is getting better.

We replaced the fantastic Mawson with a player from Torquay who has filled the gap perfectly. I doubt we would replace Roberts so easily

Agree with all that, BUT, if say Swansea did come calling and he can no doubts at least 5x his wages again...will he really turn it down?

According to reports in Southampton, Bristol City are in for Isgrove. Apparently he was shocking yesterday. His game has gone backwards since the playoff final.

We don't know how much we got for Bree and Hourihane. It is all speculation, as BFC have just stated 'a substantial fee'.

Both Roberts and Macdonald were excellent yesterday, and both are in The Football League Paper Team of The Week. Hemsworths put downs of Roberts is becoming tiresome.

To be fair, all the Southampton team were shocking. Full of kids against a very good Arsenal side.

There'll be no decision for him to make if we don't accept an offer. You'd hope as well that Marc isn't the type to spit the dummy out and threaten to strike if he doesn't get his way.

Just an FYI for you HT - no one is saying we got £4m for Bree, only you and a bit of paper gossip. We got absolutely nowhere near that figure for him.

Your dislike for certain players is making you look a bit silly and look like you know nowt about football. You try to come across like you know more than most, but then come out with some right ***** just becuase you don't like players who didn't come from a prem academy.

I cant take anything you say seriously because your letting your dislike for players make you say really stupid stuff

The players you have told us for 1-2 years are no good are our most sought after players and valuable to the team

I think you need to grow up a bit hemsie,

Roberts is a far better player than Mawson who frankly was a liability. He was very comfortable on the ball dribbling it around but I like my defenders who can defend and he was piss poor at it just like James bree. Both f them show everything that's wrong with football where the primary decider of a player's value is age and potential based on apossible, maybe if they suddenly learn how to do their jobs, change in ability. Call me old fashioned but I like the idea of basing a player's worth on how good they are not their date of birth

    What a load of ****.

The players I've enjoyed watching over the last 18 month are the ones that have either got the biggest moves for the club in terms of money or gone back to clubs and moved for big contracts.

Mawson. Remember it was reported that he went for 5 million and the owner said it was MORE.
Bree. Our best player and most valuable since Alfie went. We got a great fee for him and like will get the same again over a period of time. Reading what villa fans have been saying he's the more like of the two that went to villa park to get straight into the starting 11. We'll see what happens in the coming days, months.
Hourihnane. Have I enjoyed watching him. Yes. He's got plenty still to do. Lots of good players at villa and Bruce could pick them as easily as him.
Fletcher. Not our player but onloan and he was brilliant. Been in the whu squad most if the season.
