I agree, we're only 7th in the 5th best (allegedly) league in the world. Obviously something is going horribly wrong.
Nothing is horribly wrong, as you clearly evidence. That does not mean however, we aren't very short up front. Hecky himself said he wanted to strengthen up front before losing Winnall and Payne. Pointing that out isn't a criticism of the club's season, more stating the obvious.
We might see Watkins upfront with Bradshaw or Armstrong, and the other one on the bench. There's still a few hours to go, don't get your knickers in a twist just yet.
Armstrong and Bradshaw are arguably too short, but we have Watkins who can play upfront and he's plenty tall enough.
I don't think HT is criticizing the team in any way. We've lost Winnall and Payne and need another striker to make up numbers.
We have no cover for injuries & suspensions. Hecky hasn't lost his rag before, despite loads of horrific refereeing decisions this year. He's put a brave face on it in the pre match interview, but truth is we have lost 3 of the best players in the division & only signed one experienced championship player to replace them. I would be frustrated with that. Lets hope he can work miracles with what we have. Mowatt out for 3 games won't help. On a positive Williams getting up to match fitness is a plus.
