OK Bradshaw and and Armstrong were on the bench, but our midfield had 'attacking' midfielders Kent, Hammill and Mowatt in it, with Ryan Williams who was probably the most forward-minded player in the game. I think there was only Scowen who was defensively minded in the middle of the pitch. This is a big reason why we lost as they are all pretty lightweight 'flair' players and were bullied off the ball. I think Hecky got it wrong, but I'm not sure that it was because he set the team up defensively. He has had to figure out how to play these players together. That task will be simpler for him now Mowatt has ruled himself out of the next three games.
I cudda blown Williams over from mi seeat haif way up Ponty. He hed a reight opportunity to hit one left footed first timer on edge of box but tried to come back on his reight foot and was blocked, poor decision making. He weren`t all bad, but seems short on confidence to me.
I thought we lost because we couldnt defend set pieces, and Wolves took their chances and we didnt take some pretty good chances at the other end That and change half a team in a couple of weeks doesnt help of course. No point panicking about one result - seems similar in some ways to the Forest game Clearly if we go on a losing run it will be time to get concerned as confidence will suffer and then bad results become a habit (see Bristol or Birmingham) but lets ee what happens on Saturday - could do with a good win to bounce back Expect Bradshaw and Armstrong to be back in for that game
