FFS, has in not to come to your attention that we have a Tory govt that takes shear delight in the forcing the financial cuts on Labour controlled councils like Barnsley that have a devastating effect on our local services. They are designed to do exactly what they are doing. If trying to convince me that all this is the fault of zBMBC your wasting your time and proving how deluded you are.
I've met a few MP's through work and in my opinion Angela Smith is one of the best in the region. She's also my constituency MP. Not very charismatic but head and shoulders above some of the other self serving careerists that have been elected in the past in these parts.
Even. Scr chaired by Houghton gave Barnsley council a vote of no confidence. We are not getting a penny from them
But what if a decent proportion of her constituents are thickos who only voted leave because they don't like darker-skinned people?
Well bugger me sideways I find that most upsetting , racist , homophobic, misogynistic, and very condescending I think you should be reported to the nearest authorities, but I can't be bothered Hth
I doubt that very much tbh, I think more people are realising they were lied to and have changed their minds. However the only democratic way to prove this is to put it to a vote ,i know people keep saying we've had a vote and that's that ,but if they were so confident the British people still want to leave after the lies have been exposed they wouldn't be afraid to ask again to make doubly sure.
Aye cos the the EU as it stands is doing wonders for the economies of the med countries. Just as an example.
I think you may find that your local M.P. is more saturated with the prejudice of their own political leanings and their own careers to be left to deciding the big decisions on our behalf. We've already voted on whether to stay in or out. Your M.Ps, "furnished with the full facts", voted to give us a referendum. So now they must go along with what the result they left with us to decide upon. With regard to the rest of their parliamentary business - fair enough - let them use their own nouse.
Most of em were almost third world countries till the criteria of joining EU galvanised their govts into anti poverty action. Can remember going to Italy in seventies ,poverty everywhere currency were millions of lira to pound but apparently unbelievably it were worse than that a few years before.
Yes. They were farming with horse and cart ,came a long way on the way to joining EU ,as did Spain Portugal etc. Human rights were a big issue also and health care which was almost non existent before. The fact that the Greek govt lied and didn't tax the rich is a travesty and needed reform but the fact it's used by the right wing as an example of a broken society when in reality it could have been repaired without the austerity of the poor , but alas the corrupt always find a way.
No. I find it refreshing to see a Politician doing what they believe is right You could just as easily argue that my MP (Jeremy Hunt - arent I lucky) should consider his position as a large majority of his constituents voted against Brexit - but he happily followed orders and voted with the government even though he had also campaigned for remain and insisted it was bad for Britain to leave
The referendum was should we leave We now. Need to ensure we get the best possible terms and conditions so the the inevitable damage is limited For example under no circumstances doing want to see situation like the Norwegian or Swiss have. Where they are paying millions. I and getting fa back
