I've worked it out. Carlos does a Warnock and signs him for a pittance jut so no one else can, knowing that Rhodes is on the horizon then offloads him at the end of the season to a relegated Rotherham United setting Sam's career on a downward to the Conference.
Backup striker, ruin our play off hopes, absolutely certainly get their money back at the very minimum in the summer Easy livin
Unfortunately he'll not even get on the bench when hooper and Fletcher are back and fit. Other players should take notice of winnalls situation unless money is all that matters.
We've won two and lost two since he trotted off. Which is practically our season-long form in a nutshell.
When they're being offered over 4 times the amount offered here, I reckon it would be the only thing that matters. It would be yours, and it would be mine.
the only thing that matters to footballers is money, end of,the only loyal participants are the supporters.
Point I was making was that it clearly caused a great deal of friction in the club - could have influenced Hourihane and Bree, we will never know. January has been an absolute shitter for us and we are weaker for it.
He has self belief in his own ability. Let's see how he fares. Wednesday have no players to 'feed him ' like Connor and Watkins did. That's why they were so devastated when they lost out on signing Conor! Btw, I too believe he was signed to derail us. He was never going to be picked in front of Forestieri. He must've had great faith in his own ability to challenge there. The pressure is unrelenting
He'll stay at Wensdeh until is contract runs out, no other club will pay him anywhere near what they are, he'll not leave he'd be silly to.
Lets just say that happens in that he's a backup striker the rest of the season, becomes surplus to requirements in the summer and they want shut of him. Who's going to want an 18k a week striker who's flopped in his half a season somewhere? Who would Sam take a paycut to join? The clubs that would want him wouldn't pay him anything like what he's on, so he'd go out on loan or stay put. Either way they wouldn't get back what they paid us for him.
You are not wrong but to waste the best years of your career not playing regularly not replicating the feeling when he scored the two against Walsall in the semis. I just think it's a shame to be fortunate enough to be a professional footballer and look back on your short career and think it was all for the money not the joy to others or being part of something special or scoring as many goals as you could or the excitement of winning instead he will count his money sat on his arse because he won't play ahead of forrestiery Rhodes hooper Fletcher etc.
What a load of balls. You'd do the exact same. It's not as though he's on 300k a week "enjoying his football". why do you go to work? To have a laugh? Or earn as much as possible? Silly comment.
