I'd replace it brick for brick. I'd redesign the upper tier to accommodate wheelchair bays with accompanying seating, with ramp access down to street level. The lower would be regular seating, with the intention to convert to safe standing in future. I'd build another corner stand between the Ponty and the West Stand with dedicated media facilities. If at any point we do need to upgrade capacity, I'd replace the Ponty with a stand modelled on the East Stand, with the further possibility of joining the two in the corner to make one huge stand.
personally can't see any point in rebuilding it. can't see any evidence to suggest a new stand would bring more fans in, so why would we?
There's no point unless it's only going to be built up to the halfway line. We won't pay for police and stewards at the north end.

No let's continue to keep a foothold in the past. There's just something about looking at an eyesore that is nothing more than a shack and now no longer fit for purpose. Seriously something needs to be done but the issues over ownership will always put a stop to that. It's such a pity our relations with Palmer Construction cannot be put to better use.
The current stand is expensive to maintain and obviously needs updating - the media facilities can't be great for example. I'm no architect, but as it's on a bit of a hill, couldn't the lower tier be left as it is and just a new upper tier built above it?
Only way out well ever get done is to build a moderately priced, single tier stand(maybe the height of the Ponty), with the ability to easily expand it should the opertunity call for it... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I seem to remember John Dennis and the board at that time being berated when the East Stand was built in 1992. "A total waste of money", "a white elephant", "it'll never get filled", were just a few comments made. Five years later, when we'd won promotion to the Premier League, there were no adverse comments and we already had a stand fit for purpose. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

It's not Latin, it's French. I simply did a copy and paste from Wikipedia. Although I've not checked, it could well be wrong, as Wikipedia is not noted for it's accuracy!
It's supposed to be the Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Kerr quote, “The more it changes, the more it’s the same thing.”. Which is usually quoted as "The more things change, the more they stay the same".
If that's what Google Translate says, then I'm right in saying Wikipedia is inaccurate & shouldn't be used as a tool for reliable sources.
That seems to be the same ambition some chairmen are bankrupting clubs trying to get in premiere. There is no case for larger capacity and to chase it for a game or two the FA might throw us or gamble on being in prem year upon year is not practicablet imo.
