In the same way that Hemsworth has no agenda against Roberts or Hourihane.

The facts are that Mr Cryne told me in person just after Wilson left that all decisions on all signings were by the manager (or head coach going forwards). I have no reason to think he was not being truthful. They met Conor together in an airport and convinced him to sign is that not the case.

Just to be clear I view all managers equally. I don't take the credit away from Allan Clarke for signing Ronnie Glavin because he acted on the words of a scout having never seen him play. First time round for Wilson we signed Marcelle and Bosancic on the recommendation of Sir Bobby Robson again without seeing either play. The spreadsheet system is merely modern scouting. it's you trying to cherry pick things to suit your agenda. It's just a bit sad really.

Spelling reminds me of Hemsworth too. Maybe it's all becoming clearer...

What's my agenda with then? It's you who has changed a meeting between 3 people that took place at Manchester airport to make Wilson sound better. You say you judge all managers equally I don't buy that you call lee Jay a piss poor manager and refer to Wilson as "probley his best days in managment are behind him" is that the understatement of the century. Lee Jay lost 8 on the bounce but the football served up was no worse than what Wilson gave us and some on here would have been happy to let Wilson take us down because of what happened 20 years ago. What about all Wilsons signings frimpong, break Shea, leroy lita, reece brown, keith treacy ect
I enjoy reading you posts but do you have danny wilson posters all round your house and Lee Jay on your dart board?

Personally didn't think things were that bad.

We were on a really good run & within the space of a couple of weeks lost Winnall, Williams, Bree, Cranie & Ramage to long term injury & our form went downhill.

I think it was clear there were issues with Cryne & Wilson & it was no coincidence he sacked him just before we got Winnall & Ramage back fit & our fixtures got easier so it was likely results would pick up & he could justify the sacking.

Regardless, it's all worked out well so can't complain

Come on you must see the difference between Wilson a club legend who did something that no one else has or probably will and Johnson who's only record is our biggest losing streak. That's not to defend Wilson's second period in charge it is just to say that one has achieved summat in football and the other has achieved nothing. In the history books of our club Danny will be prominent whilst Johnson a footnote. Football like life moves on and Danny has, perhaps, failed to move with them. In terms of his second period in charge 7-10 days before the start of our season we had 6 players at the club. It was a difficult job and up to the injuries mentioned above we were doing ok. No better. After that it was dour and dire. Chester at home in the cup was terrible. Johnson on the other hand took over a fully fit squad added 3 championship level players to it and became our biggest failure. In 40 odd years of watching us play I had never seen a team play as poorly as consistently as we did in that losing streak. The Altrincham game is the worst reds performance I have personally witnessed. At the end of the day I'm glad Hecky is our manager not either Wilson or Johnson but. Feel and felt that the end of Wilson needed to be handled better.

Johnson I don't dislike. Seems a genuinely nice bloke. I wished him well when he left and othe than when they play us hope his team does well now. There's very few ex Reds that I would ever wish badly of. If he was unemployed currently given his gift of the gab he might be a decent candidate for CEO

All managers want experienced players some succeed some fail. Alex Ferguson reckons a 30% success rate in signings is pretty good. I guess the flogging of Bree who he gave a debut to, Winnall and Conor more than covers that like the sale of Mawson more than made up for Michael Smith and Conor Wilinson for Johnson.

As for agenda I don't know. Just the same as I have no idea why Hemsy berates our best players whenever he can.

But Jimmy I have given Wilson credit for his 1st spell it was great and I bet even he regrets leaving us for wendsday all them years ago. But his 2nd spell the football was terrible for large parts leeds at home when we was relegated I will let go because it was always a difficult job to keep us up. But Crawley home, Chester in cup, chesterfield, preston away on boxing day, wallSall away and the donny game at the keepafloat where we hardly had a shot on target and all the pikeys were taking piss out of us after on praise and grumble was something else. That's just naming a few of Wilsons worst off top of my head. And danny had one of the biggest budgets in league 1 when we was relegated. I do give Wilson some credit for his signings after all he had the last say after the spreadsheet brought these players to his attention like wise Johnson. I'm not going to compare Wilson's 2nd spell and Johnsons time here against each other but like red army chris says both their spells failures. I do agree with you about hecky glad we have him instead of either Wilson or Johnson.
