Leicester (Champions League, Premier League survival) v Derby (Premier League aspirations) in the FA Cup (£1.8M to the winner). They need to seriously think about the FA Cup.

Yes, hope the BBC haven't forked out too much of our money on these reserve games.

Needs to be either a Champions League place or a much bigger cash prize for winning or the FA Cup is ****ed.

The way it is going, In a few years time I can see a final being played between the likes of Port Vale and Colchester.

If ever there was an example of money ruining the game this is it. In the future, records of a clubs achievement should just state what their turnover was in a particular season, not the cups they won.

At one time I hated the idea of a European super league. Now I just they'd all f off and form one. A closed shop with no relegation so we could forget about them and get on with something like proper football again. Not watched a Premier league game in years, its destroyed our game and its history.

To get a Champion's League place for the FA Cup would mean the Premier League losing one. No chance of that.

Perhaps they should have an auction in July and the 4 highest bidders get the Title and Champion's League places, then they won't have to bother with all that running about and kicking malarky.

Yep, especially since it's Fifa co efficiant points that ultimately decides how many spots we get in the first place.

They should just fine the clubs heavily for fielding a weakened team. They bizarrely did it to a few teams in whatever they call the JPT these days.

They wouldn't though really since the last time a second tier club won it was in 1980.

True, but the place wouldn't be awarded on the basis of league position, hence reducing the importance of the PL. Teams might even field weakened sides in the league in order to progress in the FA Cup, an unthinkable proposition for the PL.
