I'm planning an Awards Dinner for the organisation I work for. It's to celebrate disability sport from grass roots to Paralympic level. I need 2 things: Music to Accompany the slideshow that plays whilst folks eat their meal, and short excerpts of music whilst people come up to the stage to collect their awards. Obviously some of the awards will be sports specific, but any suggestions on either would be good. We've done "Hero" Maria Carey. "Proud M People" to death. Generally uplifting/ proud/ congratulatory type stuff. Probably not Sam Smith or Adele.
Using your thread title this was a good link..... https://www.upvenue.com/article/1852-top-best-life-motivation-songs.html
We used the music that Newcastle come out to at St.James Park at one of our work conferences - cant remember the title/artist but if you google it/listen to it on YouTube you will know it, and see why it's decent background music for such an event

I got through my A-Levels and University exams via frequent playing of Chumbawamba - "I Never Gave Up" during the low moments of revision. The background is political, as it relates to a survivor from the Nazi Death Camps, but the final minute in particular (4:57-6:00 on the YouTube link) is something I've always found really uplifting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61hmnGmX2aE The link has the full EP on it, so includes the B-side too. With the lyrics and how inspirational/dramatic/positive the tune is, this wrestling tune of a current champion would sound great...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVaJH8pWnWk Would even be good for us to play at Oakwell
