Nothing lucky about it. They were the better side by some margin. And I have to admit that Winnall played very well. He's in pole position now alongside Rhodes, and Wednesday are going to be in the playoffs.

The reality is if hooper had played in that match he would have had a hat trick.

We haven't made Wednesday any stronger by signing Winnall. Fletcher, Hooper and Rhodes are all better.

Have we made ourselves weaker? Yes, but Winnall was not playing for us again whether he signed or not. Saying if we refused to let him sign for Wednesday he wouldn't play again was pretty much the sum of it.

So Wednesday got a 4th choice striker, we get potentially £2m, and we get a sulking ***** away from an otherwise positive dressing room.

 

Doubt he's in pole position. When Fletcher & Hooper are fully fit and game ready, he won't get a look in. Missed some good chances today

I think you'll find that scoring that goal and getting in so many good positions will have put him in possession of the shirt. And I say that having thought that he might not necessarily have been suited to Wednesday's style.

Ask them in December 2015 and we were a relegation certainty because players weren't up to it and we were stuffed with loanees. Ask them after we were promoted and they'd have been happy with 4th from bottom because the players weren't up to much better. Ask them before we sold Winnall and we weren't good enough for promotion anyway. Sell Winnall and they say it's cost us promotion whilst saying "He's not that good anyway without Hourihane" and ripping him to pieces.
