Talking about the academy. Looks like they've missed out on a few players which have joined other clubs and had trials with some massive clubs. Ones gone to Arsenal and a french youth International paperwork didn't get sorted in time and he's had trials with some of the biggest clubs the worlds got to offer. He goes on to compare with Stones. I'm not sure I like a member of the academy doing that. It adds all sorts of pressures. Says the clubs getting audited soon. I wonder how big the gap would be between making the club a Tier one academy.
Good for them, hope it works out. The academy is slowly starting to churn us out a profit, so I'm happy enough.
Yeah he says that premier league academies are wondering why they get inferior ratings to ours. Nothing to criticise here. Move on
The academy's been good for a while. Watching them when Keith Hill came in and made changes was brilliant to see. The football was as good as you'd seen at any level. He's said in the article that the changes will be judged in 5 or so years. Whats happening now's from things that happened 5 years ago and more.
Or he's motivating them. "You're here now, just like Stones. Think of where you could get to if you work hard."
He was happy to have all the players training in the John stones gym but because bobby has said something it's out of order.
Hey after all this time he has finally found something to bash Bobby Hassell over . Well done West Yorkshires finest strikes again !
Comparing to Stones being added pressure? Didn't we name a gym after John Stones or did that never happen in the end? The club mention him at every opportunity and rightly so. The fact that he came from us should make others strive to achieve the same. I would be surprised if certain non league teams don't mention Vardy and Horsfield in the same way.
Phil, did you ever receive a written warning from the Hassells? If so, can we see it? It must be 5 years ago now, the dust has probably settled.. Ah, ah, ah, ah - CHOOOO!!
I'm not sure how to measure it and would love to know how you can say that. From the limited time of watching the last 12 months been a poor period for the academy. They changed the style of play and it's something that's not great to watch. Like i've said above though it will take time. Did things need changing? From the limited time i've seen them play I don't think they are that great to watch. I talk to people that watch them much more than I do and it's something that they agree with. Also it'd be interesting to see what they make of the pitch the u18's play on along with the u23's. https://twitter.com/bfc_official/status/830391418514456576 https://twitter.com/bfc_official/status/830386146677030914
Kids football means nothing in terms of results just the development of players. Chuff me Dan Crowley looked ace in kids football. Bobby as part of the team is doing a great job.
''In kids football'' What the hell are you talking about. The football at that levels the centre block for how they play in the future. If you listen to either Mason or John Stones they will also answer the question the same when asked why do you play the football the way you do. And this kids stuff laughable. They are fecking massive some of them. I think the Nottingham forest manager told that 17 year old apparently just keep doing what you are doing in the u18's .....
Presumably Emmanuel frimpong played kids football with his eyes closed and lead weights round his ankles
