On EastEnders a couple of weeks ago somebody was watching a video online in the made-up website that I think was called groovetube or something. It was clear it was YouTube but because the BBC is wrapped in political nonsense they have to pretend not to advertise products so they spend money creating fictional websites.

Tonight on casualty somebody was using a search engine 'cluesearch' which had a lovely search box across the top and web, images, video, news and shopping below it. Sound familiar Mr Google? Again political nonsense means the BBC must pretend not to know of the existence of a company so they waste a bit of cash recreating one instead.

Fair enough, we all know the rules, I think I'll listen to a repeat of football heaven now. I wonder how many times they will advertise Facebook and Twitter and ask us all to visit and use these private companies.

The BBC is so wrapped up in political crap that it doesn't even realise it's own inconsistencies anymore

Funny how they do that but whenever you see a laptop on the BBC it has a big bright apple on it.

Except pointless where the back of the laptop has pointlessly been covered up with a giant ugly sticker hiding the logo. An even more pointless thing to do considering that the laptop in question has never been turned on

Very strict producer guidelines that have been around longer than you or I. Not allowed to endorse commercial organisations or products. Event sponsors names can appear on graphics, but any verbal references are carefully monitored and a set number agreed on beforehand. Some stuff gets through, but it shouldn't. It's simply some young buck not reading their producer handbook properly. Look North repeatedly use the Facebook and Twitter logos onscreen, but shouldn't be.

Sorry to disappoint, but it's really nothing more sinister than that. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll find another target before long.

Who said it was sinister? I said it is political nonsense that means they must pretend these worldwide well known companies don't exist and proof that they don't know their wncruoes that they inconsistently break their own rules. I'm pretty sure that you just agreed with me by saying that young bucks who don't read the rules properly do it.
That said I would hope that the entire radio Sheffield team know the rules, people like Toby foster, rony Robinson and Andy Giddings aren't exactly new to the game are they.

Match of the Day consistently refer to Sports Direct Stadium, the Emirates, Etihad Stadium etc

Is that within the "no advertising" remit?

In order to keep my reputation of being a hip and cool dude alive I would like to take the opportunity to clarify that I am not an avid watcher of EastEnders and was visiting a friend who's bird (that's what us trendy guys call them) was watching said BBC show

Read one of my replies, I was out when I saw it on EastEnders ;) and I only ever listen to radio Sheffield in the car. I don't think I even possess a radio at home

Genuine question. How do you feel the Tories let loose their lies on ITV that they don't on the BBC?

That my friend is what it's all about. People keep trying to tell me the Beeb is left wing it's ******. The other night they made a report about the state of the the zNHS and showed people sat on the floors in hospital corridors etc, The next report was about a hospital in Bavaria where the only people on the corridors were doctors walking about in groups., and intverviwed a patient who talked of his positive experience. Funded by Private insurance
