Good that. Proper intelligence, not pseudo intellectual LJ style buzzword crap. I'll be astounded if he doesn't manage in the Premier League.
Me too. I still think there's a decent chance it'll be with us as well. I hope so, because we'll never have a better opportunity than we have with the current set-up.
What an excellent piece. The thing that comes across is the intelligence & thoughtfulness of the bloke. For me, Allan Clarke (first time round) had always been my favourite all time Barnsley manager, for how his galvanised the club and town in the '70's. Norman Hunter produced the best footballing team I've ever seen play for Barnsley. Danny Wilson took us to the Premier League for the first time, with a wonderfully gifted & entertaining team. But Paul Heckingbottom has now become my Number 1 Barnsley manager in all the years since I've been a fan. I've no idea how long he'll be here, but I'm determined to enjoy the time while I can.
It's a pleasure to listen to him - unlike them more intelligent coaches and folks shopping at Aldi n ****
His kids go to the same school as mine, drops them off regularly. Always got time for people. Also used to see him at Royston baths when my daughter was having swimming lessons around the same time as his eldest daughter. Same again, just another dad in there. Doesn't sound like he's changed one bit, nor do I think he will. He's just a fantastic representative of the whole area as well the club. Football could learn a lot from him.
