Was he on bench. I'd be seriously hacked off if mowatt had walked straight back in the team in front. Of me if I was him
Bit pissed off for Moncur today. Was the best of a bad bunch last weekend and was one of our best players against Villa. Hopefully he starts with James in midfield on Saturday.
Mowatt was outwide so it was Scowen who took his place, when everyones fit Moncur wont get into the team most weeks.
Team has got to be picked on form or there's no point for the fringe players. I agree that Scowen maybe deserved a place in the side but he was useless today on the ball. Moncur would have cut open their defence with the balls Scowen wasted.
I'm not disagreeing at all I thought it was Josh's worst game for us, I'm just saying Scowen had been playing well before he was injured so Hecky brought him back in, whether he should or not doesn't matter now, Mowatt wasn't brought in Moncur it was Scowen and I'd have Moncur and Mowatt in next week
Yeh, reckon Mowatt should be dropped. Think he'll be a quality signing but needs a full pre-season with us.
I reckon a 3 man midfield of Moncur, Mowatt and Scowen would be ace. Be one of the best in league IMO.
can't say i agree. we play 4-4-2. james and scowen look like the middle 2 for me. beyond rotation, i can't see where moncur and mowatt will fit in
You don't think he's ten yards too slow for our counter attacking football? That's why it didn't work yesterday, compare that to when we had Hourihane. Very strange signing.
Think Mowatt will come good, but will take time. Always harder for midfielders to slot in. For now I'd play James & Scowen in middle, or James & Moncur, with Scowen wide.
Perhaps see how Hourihane has started at Aston Villa? Perhaps, just maybe, it takes some players more than a couple of games to settle in completely. Or just write them off early.... brilliant.
That was probably tactical and in the game plan when his inclusion was announced rather than how he was playing on this particular game.
I don't think that what been said at all. Any bulletin board service is about discussing issues. That's what happening here
I think Moncur has bags of talent. He has a great touch and his Colchester stats show he clearly has an eye for goal. He is too good a player not to be in the team, but I am not sure quite in what role to play him. Perhaps that is Hecky's dilemma. I don't think Moncur showed enough commitment with his tackles last week, but you could have said the same, initially, about Hourihane.
