Aye I included cup games in Tom's starts. If someone had asked me without checking I would have guessed about 15 starts in all comps for Tom.

I agree with this and we need to be scouting widely to reconstruct the team for another push forwards in 2017-18. I am sure that the board will be doing so, although the absence of a CEO is a concern. I would certainly be giving selection priority to those players who will be here next season and looking as to whether some of our loanees might become permanent (eg James). Otherwise, we need to be out scouting for talent we can afford and for whom we will be a possible bridge to higher things. I would definitely be enquiring about Cameron McGeehan and Ollie Watkins, but it looks as though we need to replace Sam Winnall with another striker to partner Tom Bradshaw and who will get us 15-20 goals. Not easy, but they are around. Pity that Cole Kpekawa doesn't seem to have come up to expectation yet, as full-back other than Yiadom is a clear weakness and getting exploited now. Priorities then - full back; creative midfielder; defensive midfielder and striker. Any ideas?

Agree with that. Although we will hopefully have a fully fit Sessi back next year in the defensive midfield role. Think we need atleast one other quality "deep" centre mid. Not necessarily defensive but a playmaker. Unless Moncur or Mowett are able to adapt a la Hourihane.

If Scowen and Watkins leave as expected, then we need a left back, Right back, centre mid, 2* wide players and 2*strikers.

    That would leave us with

    Davies, Townsend
Yiadom, McDonald, Jackson, Roberts, 2*new full backs, Kpekwa(?)
Hammill, Moncur, Sessi, Mowett, Hedges, 2* wide players, 1* new centre mid
    Bradshaw, Payne, Jackson, Brown, 2*strikers

That would leave us with a squad of 23. So 6 new players permenantly. And whatever class loan signings may be out there to add 4/5 more options.

Sure I've seen people say we need 15 new signings. I'd argue it's a maximum of 6 permenant (if scowen, Watkins and white go). Sure we can get some class players in.

I'd say a minimum of 10-12 signings with 5 loan signings. I'd expect Yiadom, McDonald, Roberts, Scowen and Watkins to leave possibly accompanied by Jackson (couldn't get in Grimsby's side) and Payne. I also think Moncur may be moved on.

Central midfield we would have only Sessi as a genuine central midfielder.

Anyone know what the prize money is for finishing 10th rather than 15th? Assuming there is such a thing...

Can't see all angus yiadom and robo leaving.... hope not anyway they are all under contract Ano that means little but if that happens we really are in trouble. And maybe moncur can be a big player for us next season we gave him a 3 year deal and payed a decent fee hopefully we don't give up on him so fast as he has looked good in spells.

Depends if they want to sign new contracts as they are all in the last 12 months in the summer and I presume we don't want to get caught with our pants down in January again. Of course we might follow the same line as we did this year try and get to safety then sell any assets. Not sure which scenario is better Tbf.

I'm a fan of Moncur myself. Not sure quite how he fits into the team structure and it depends on him maturing and changing his attitude.

Would love to see Brown (cf), Dolan(lb) and Patrick(cf) have a crack.

From what I saw they have a lot of talent. When you consider its Armstrong and Elder getting a run out instead.

Oh and Williams instead of Kent. Seeing as he's vanished as well recently. Liked him far more than Kent on the wing or Armstrong up front/off front man.

I think I'd rather we try get as many points on the board 1st and then sell think only wednesday had our pants down with winnall we got a rumored 6 million plus insentives for conor and bree both played big parts in getting us promoted and to safety and both wanted to go so would have gone for free in a couple of months (we would have got a tribunal for bree but would have been less than we got)

Agree with moncur I think they is a player on there hopefully he knuckles down has a good pre season ect and can be a big player for us next season.

I think he does a good job in both positions & with the lack of options up front, compared to wide, (where we are allowing one of our best players to warm the bench), I think we look better with him up top. He get caught offside a lot, but is a pain in the arse for any defender with his mobility & aggression
