    Cineworld WOW ! 20 years after Wakefield got theirs .Here we come kicking and screaming into the 21st century . The Big Man shop has just had a new roof so its not going on that site .

    So that's the death knell for the old Odeon cinema then? Another place from youth will disappear, following the Alhambra and the Ritz.

    I know that there have been problems with anti-social behaviour around that area but who is to say that the knuckle-draggers will not just transfer their own brand of cretinity to the new development area?

    They want to get on with it the town centre looks like an absolute craphole ATM, worse than Bradford.

    Supposed to be going near where that temporary market is at the moment. Bout time we had a decent cinema. Can't say will miss the current offering. I think to survive they will have to do something like the everyman cinema in Leeds to offer something different. As a like for like offering, zero competition.

    Bradford looks quite good since they finished the new shopping centre. Its not perfect, but been to a lot worse.

    Let's see what colour they paint it first, if it's the same as the plans I'm worried we're going down the interchange route, whoever chose the colour scheme for that needs to have a word with themselves. What's the obsession with multicoloured buildings? Besides the colours it looks great, glad they've secured the money. We can stop giving our money to the dee dar ******** at Meadowhall now.

    I can't see any of the new restaurants making any money - it looks like fatties aren't allowed in the new development.
