Agree with you . It was inevitable that they would leave but it isn't half depressing . Its like watching some other club at the moment and not ours. The end of this season will mark the end of an era because the majority of the Wembley heroes will be long gone .
It's happened in every season PC has been in charge. I know John Dennis got things wrong at the end - but JD built either on the team or on the ground every year. Since PC has been in charge we have more or less trod water - nothing built on the field, every season basically a new squad - and nothing built off the field. I have a lot of respect for PC - but things like this must be said - basically because I think the vast majority of fans are being mislead by the directors smoke and mirrors tactics.
Well given that the first half of the season was a lot longer than the rest of it we would be! Anyway for somebody who asked me to leave him alone before , you're big on the disparaging remarks You must be really missing that dislike button you would be on a world record by now, anyway its a waste of time arguing with you because if I argue back you will be off with the whiney PM's again
When John Dennis was here it was a different financial environment completely. When John Dennis got things wrong, who finally came in and steadied the ship to save it from sinking out of sight? Have we forgot AFC Barnsley and the dark days of Peter "sweating the assets" Doyle? Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Its going to be a tough summer.. If folk think it ill be easy to get decent players in on the cheap then think again, Everybody knows we've done well in the transfer market, sales wise, and will be looking for a cut..
You're quite right, and we could also afford to bring in ready to go quality like higgy, ward, HendrIe, Bruce and ships, just to mention a few. What price would those players have in today's climate? Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Davies made a save in first half from Idrissa Sylla, its shown on Sky's highlights. MacDonalds own goal is not classed as a shot on target.
I know who funded them, my point is that it was a bleak time for the football club with people wanting to form another team in the town. Longley Tyke springs to mind. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Longley tyke didn't find them though did he. AFC Barnsley helped destabilise our club when we were in our darkest hour.
I didn't say he did, or what effect they had on Bfc. I was just mentioning them and Doyle in relation to the hole we were in at the time compared to where we are now. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
True. I think it is only fair though to point out that at no point did Peter Doyle ever apply for any planning permission to build on bfc land. Oakwell community assets limited (PC and the council 50/50) have however applied to build houses on the carpark.
