Just double checked this, and it worked this time. Previously there were no thread tools (bold, italics etc), and no field to enter the posts. It simply went Thread Title and then on to Tags. Might have been a one off, I'll let you know if it happens again.
It's very clean, isn't it? Is the host still charging you an arm and a bollock Paul? If so, I think we all should chip in...
50 quid a month and cloud flare. 20 quid a month but need to work out if we can scale any of that back Also had to buy a license for xenforo. Will post a begging bowl post at some point
Love it overall, great work Gally and we're all massively in your debt for the time and effort you dedicate to giving us a forum to come on a whinge about bird ****, condiments and the existence or otherwise of a creator. I just really don't like the banner picture at the top. I can hear the squeaky voices and feel like I'm gonna get acne just looking at it.
Functionally the new site is great, it is quick and I like how clear it is when in mobile view but I agree with others that it could do with a bit of red. I've just had a play with a few colours, would something like this be possible without much work? Also in my preferences it mentions threaded view but i didn't think threaded exists in xenforo?
Looks much better. Sorry not really had a lot of time since last week to fiddle any more. Going to be choka tomorrow but might have some time on wed between flights. (Off to the states for a conference and stuck in Heathrow for a few hours). Think we could do with a better photo for the banner probably of Oakwell. Wonder if @YTBFC or Stretch can help with this?
Yeah i've read a setting that mentioned that but I didnt think there was a threaded view either. Will do more digging.
Logged in now gally thanks for all your hard work I don't post often but I can tell you I miss it when it's not there
Seems less popular than the previous version. Which is odd because that wasn't working half the time.
I'm overseas and have relied on this forum (and prior iterations) for years and years for news & gossip. I fully understand the switch & know that most seem to like it. Yet... I used to visit the old site most days. Now I hardly ever come here and can't explain why. & when I do come here I spend much less time on the site. Wish I could explain it but I can't - something is missing. Not meant as any kind of criticism Gally... you are doing a great (& thankless) job... just an observation from afar.
Were you usually logged in when you used the old site? And what view did you use usually? Also was you on a mobile or pc?ie did it put the in mobile or desktop version? I don't mean to be a pain but it could help if Gally knew that it was people who used x view that weren't keen on the new look.
