no, we should've made him play his contract out on the same money and then who knows, i'll say it again, we didn't need to sell.... lol! your funny
Yes we should have made him even better we could have waterboarded them all in ponty end bogs until they signed new deals little *****
Yeah. **** this club. What have they managed to get right in the last couple of years. You, me and everyone else knows they've been right **** the last 24 months. Compare that to our last 80 years.... you do realise our turnover don't you? So to gamble a whole ******* year of that on the outside chance of getting into the playoffs is a risk. And what's wrong with the bloke who stopped us going pop doesn't want the club to rely on his investment forever seeing as he himself won't be around forever. You see any Sheiks or Russians hanging around to buy us? Or even a Tuna salesman? No. Perhaps because we aren't a fashionable club. So we rely on our relatively small gates to stay competitive. Or selling players for profit.
http://www.barnsleychronicle.com/ar...-self-sustainable-club-to-fans-in-near-future Do you want a club to support? If so either buy in and run it at a loss. Or understand those trying to run it to survive.
We should be able to recruit, as we do have capital for transfer fees, but not revenue for salaries. it means that we should be in a strong position to sign the better lower league players, but not to pay them top dollar. I would think that we should be looking at Cameron McGeehan from Luton, as well as Godden from Stevenage, Olly Watkins from Exeter and we ought to be scouting others as well. We must rebuild, but that it the only way we can do it. With careful and thorough scouting, we should be able to rebuild where the team needs strengthening, but it will be lower league players. I wouldn't be surprised if we find ourselves having to around one million transfer fee for a player who will be on around £4k per week. That will work for us and the quality of players are around to keep us going well in the championship. Trouble is - it may take time for the new players to develop to championship standard, so I suppose we could have a slow start to next season and then pick up again. Get scouting, chaps.
Unfortunately we will now find it harder to sign players than we would have done before an appalling transfer window. We will now also be MORE reliant on wages being a draw for players than we would have been had it not been for disaster
Gooden from Stevenage would be a good forward line signing, but I suspect a long queue wanting him. 40 odd goals in 90 odd games, signs for Stevenage and has 20 odd goals already. I bet they regret only giving him a one year contract. Would make a good free transfer, 25 years old so borderline what we'd go for and shown a good goal scoring pedigree for a number of seasons now, not just one like Bogle who went for too much money.
We spent over a million last summer on bradshaw and moncur scince then we have received over 17 million pounds in player sales
And many on here were going mad with the board for not paying 1million for omar bogle..... thank God we didn't
Shush! That doesn't fit with the agenda of the 5 or 6 posters that still post regularly on here.... they are the ones who could run Barnsley football club, with about 6k paying season ticket holders, far better than the people currently employed. They would gamble away £10m in the hope of reaching the promised lands. They would pay £1m and £15k a week for 3 years to Omar 3 goal Bogle. Not to mention £15k a week to Sam Morsy. Because now Wigan are sky rocketing up the league. You've completely got this forum wrong. You need to smash the club repeatedly over the head for anything that doesn't fit your agenda. The last 2 months (making £10m and getting results at clubs we never expected to) mean that the previous 12 months were insignificant and obsolete. might just leave this board to Conan, Young Nugget and Dr Zazlos drunken sperm to tug each other off about who can criticse this club to most. Never thought I would miss Phil....
Yes, he was so positive and believed in our players didn't he? Apart from winning at Villa which result have we got we never expected to?
In the last 2 months we have won 2 games. I know expectations are low but if we only win 2 a game a month we might get relegated...
Erm i don't think that expecting a player to honour a contract which he willingly signed is really comparable to torture
In the same way when he scored a free kick and a penalty people were suggesting he was buy of the season and our board were inept for not spending £1m on him? Or those who are chalking **** on supporting the club seeing as we've had a poor march? Aye. All about opinions.
Are you knew on here !!! Haven't you seen any of the posts relating to properly constructed players contracts. Question is - can this be achieved? And - why isn't the board of directors telling us what can be achieved?
