All these complaints now. Where were you all in January- when I and just one or two more on here were telling it as it was ??? We were absolutely slated back then !!! No one listening. All we heard back then was that 'we are just one point off the playoffs, we'll be fine'. And still we wait for one of the directors to be courteous and explain to the fans why Barnsley got into the awful mess in January - where most of the 1st team was up for sale - and importantly: WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO TO PREVENT IT HAPPENING AGAIN How long are we supposed to wait ???
Correct Young Nudger 1 step forward 5 steps back, and nothing happening from the "board" to show that they want to correct that. Ambition is sorely needed, otherwise sell up or find investment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
do you think it was deliberately done by "the board" to temper our expectations, being one point off a playoff place, or do you think there is a general lack of knowledge and possibly ambition by them at the level we are? I must admit that with hindsight the January "sale" has turned into a debacle but if it was done with any hint of deliberate action to turn our promising season into one of survival then there will be a lot to answer for. As I have said before it won't be long before they are asking for our money again, bearing in mind we could for the second season running be losing a lot of our best players.
Think you were telling anyone that listen the same thing last year when we were near the bottom.... .... then we got promoted.
with respect and hopefully no fall out....the very answer to your question in my opinion is yes...the mentality and attitude of the so called board was exactly the same when Mark Robins was here....safety before any ambition (i know i sound like an old record and folk must get sick of me posting the same drivel) ...we keep getting told we are moving forward both on and off the field...unfortunately and this is my opinion we are not, on the field to some extent off it....nothings changed, off the field the ambition isnt there ....i think that was proved in january....weve been down the same road too many times, webuy into the clubs plans then get sold short....Can you remember Bull **** Bens words ...its our aim as a club to fill those empty seats .......those empty seats will be added to next season and i base my thought pattern on the fact since january weve gone backwards and two the very fact should hecky be here next season, he will have to build a new team again from scratch, that wont have that same drive and passion that we gained from our promotion ....many will not agree but for once for me nudger is spot on......unless there is a massive shake up off the field it will be business as usual and history will continue repeating its self......tread watèr followed by that old chestnut, We need to drop a league to rebuild..... do i hear a massive cheer.....i think i need to stop posting for a while as im not very happy with the situation and feel that weve been short changed again and like i said i sound like a broken record....catch you later guys
Too much overthinking and conspiracy theories. Had you told me we would be safe and still in the top half then yeah, you could have said "I told you so" because I probably wouldn't have believed it. When you look at the final league table in years to come it won't say that the reds were **** for half a season, just like last season's won't, but we were. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
I've been pointing these problems out for years. Nothing is being built on or off the field. A succession of good managers have come and gone because of poor input from the board. Mainly surrounding players contracts. We would be a very successful and wealthy club if this problem could be solved. IMO - the club is currently being run as a rich man's hobby. Question: If Hecky wasn't a Barnsley fan - who believes he would still be at the club? Yes - he would No - he would not I'll start NO
Hecky will be getting pissed off but has patience due to his roots. I totally agree, he wouldn't be here in summer if he wasn't a Barnsley fan because a club will come calling with ambition and he owes us nothing.
Based on what though? You guessing how he might feel, or reading in between the lines of his press interviews? He's just a bloke doing a job and getting well paid. As far as I know, no one has expressed a solid interest in him. So you're saying he would have walked away? Try to remember, only fans think like fans. The other people in football are doing it for a living. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Spot on. People on here need to see the difference between supporting your team and being angry that the team is being asset stripped. Do nothing and watch it happen again it's that simple.
It's NOT been 'asset stripped' !!! Patrick Cryne has put £££millions into the club. We will be forever grateful for that. He will always be a legend at the club. All I'm saying here is that players contracts need to be tweaked so they benefit the player but also the CLUB.
I got told by a reliable source ( I can't reveal who for obvious reasons but let's just say he sells burgers) anyhoo we had got players lined up but we didn't sign them because we don't want to go up
It needed to be said so folk can understand why it's all gone Pete Tong (that's rhyming for "its been like this for all this long")
Board needs sacking mate. Since Hourihane and winnal left the club, we haven't half as many songs. What kind of club doesn't have people with good rhyming names lined up to replace the ones being sold? Clubs going backwards in a musical sense! No lyrical ambition! Spot on pal, what kind of club sells its bestest singing about players, I can't believe I'm going to say this about my own town club but if Barnsley FC was Xfactor then they would have had 3 buzzer red crossy things by now. Tell me I'm wrong?
