There HAS to be a left or right full back in the under 23's worth playing rather than him. If there isn't, then I have to say it's really worth the ongoing loss of money.
They has been worse this season elder, we could play kwpeka or young rhys Dolan but think Dolan is a fair bit off ready.
All the more reason to play him. No benefit to us playing another clubs player when we have kids waiting to try and make the step up We need the next Stones don't forget
If they're good enough Hecky hopefully will play them. The U23s are hardly pulling up any trees. Stones and Holgate have paid for the academy for what 15 years? Hopefully we'll have a couple more in the next 15 years. But let's not expect a conveyor belt of John Stones. Some may just be Jacob Butterfiled, others may just be solid first team pros. Still good to get behind your own. Nothing like pride in your own club, supporting your own players. They must buzz off the support they get!
Gethin Jones isn't our player. I'd much rather we had our own player making the mistakes he is making. Then we might actually benefit. That's what I'm saying. Believe in our own ahead of other clubs own. But yer know.
I don't especially rate Gethin Jones but he's a young lad who might get better and who we may sign. If we intend to sign him I'd say it's reasonable to play him. If we don't them we should play someone who will be here in the longer term. Luckily not a decision for me.
Or conversely cower from the abuse. I still remember the treatment Nicky Eaden got from some sections of the crowd and he was a solid, quality 2nd tier level player. Some "supporters" take great pleasure from abusing our home-grown players.
I'm not condoning abusing anyone at the match. They all get my support. This board is here to call out things as we see it. I think there has to be someone that actually belongs to us worth playing now. Of course, as @Jimmy cricket said, if we are intending on signing him it is a different kettle of fish. All I'll say if that comes to pass is both he and the coaching staff have a lot to do.
Hecky ought to try 3-5-2 for a couple of games ,it eradicates the full back problems . We've got nowt to lose as we are merrily strolling with our hands behind our backs whilst whistling a happy tune into the summer .
