The mistake we made in January was

.We should have had kept all of the players who left and let them leave free in the summer and jeopardise the long term future of the football club. I found g this we would. Gave deviating from the clubs strategy that had severed them so well. Whilst generating discontent in the players as a by product.

That's what most have you have been suggesting for a couple of months now.

Was the clubs future really in jeopardy if we didn't get those league 1 wages off our wage bill? blimey, just how badly are we run?

We certainly secured the long term future. You clearly consider its better give them away. And have disaffected players in the squad. It's an interesting philosophy but not sure it would work too well

Are you really Stanley Unwin in disguise?

There is something seriously wrong behind the scenes if we can't manage without the money we got for Winnall, Hourihane & Bree.

We would have got the Bree money anyway due to him being under 24 and home grown.

Serious question - football aside. Look at the title of your thread. Why have you posted that? Why do you never check your posts before you submit? Even if I thought you had posted something decent, I wouldn't be able to take it seriously due to the shocking spelling and grammar.

Hard to be taken seriously with so many typos in even the post title :)

The mistake wasn't made in January though it was made much earlier. We lost 4 players in January though one wasnt ours
Morsey was a **** up and we should have had him signed up properly - that said James is a more than adequate replacement as a loanee

Bree - I dont think we could do much about unless we had offered him silly money - the important thing was to maximise what we could get for him and leaving it for a tribuneral in the summer really wasnt a great idea - We should have kept G Williams though who was a lot better than Elder, Jones or Cole and much less likely to break than White.

Winnall - he wasnt happy and wanted to leave - I dont think there is any contract we could have offered he would have taken. We signed Bradshaw as one replacement but we never signed anyone with decent heading ability. Maybe Payne will come good next season but we have let ourselves get into a position where we are decidedly light up front. No idea why we didnt send Armstrong back in Jan but maybe there was no one better available.

Hourihane - this is the tricky one maybe had we done things differently in the summer we would have been in a different position but we didnt know how well he would handle the step up to championship - he did far better than anyone could have known - statistically the best player in the league. I think the club made a conscious decision that now we had no hope of keeping him in the summer, we were safe and unlikely to go up - may as well take what we can and let him get a decent pay rise 6 months early. I am sure he would have stayed if we had insisted and still performed as well as he could but the damage was already done. I think had we offered him a good contract with a guaranteed buy out to a Prem Club at say 10million in the summer at least for him January would have been a bit different

We would have got significantly less than 3million and no add ons.

We could no doubt but on the other hand these players had given us good service why should we keep players who want to leave?

Not necessarily true. We got £1m plus add ons for Holgate who was not a regular, unlike Bree.

The holgate transfer didn't go to a tribunal. And the fee variety I heard 500k and I would class him as a regular he broke into the 1st team that season

Brush, I totally agree. It's like waking up in a different dimension in here sometimes.
Some people on here actually write like Stanley Unwin speaks, and the actual content is pretty similar.

Pretty sure it did. He wasn't an ever present like Bree though.

Isn't our future jepodised by running us at a huge loss even when we've just had one of our most successful seasons ever?

Shouldn't the board be doing much more off the pitch so they aren't reliant on pissing off our amazing boss by weakening the team he builds so we can make money?

He does it deliberately, especially the full stops. I've seen him make reasonably well written posts, when he's really serious about making a point.
