"Heckingbottom refused to talk about the specific future of Roberts and Andy Yiadom" according to Doug O'Kane. Looks as though they might join Josh, Marley and the loanees out of the door. On a more positive note, progress is reported to have been made on the CEO front (although no details given in the Chron).
Of course it makes a difference, otherwise all the doom mongers wouldnt be banging on about extending contacts would they.
Unbelievable. I know it's trendy at the moment to paint everything the darkest shade black but ffs. In Hecky's interview when specifically asked about those still under contract - including Yids & Roberts he said it wasn't fair on those players to comment about on going contract talks - if they signed extended deals it would be announced. No guarantee they'll stay. Exactly the same as every player at every club. Sent from the darkest recesses of a poisoned mind.
Why would you presume that they dont want to re sign, unless you know something we dont, please share
Hecky also said earlier in the week if players want to leave they will the gulf in finances in this league is massive. We then replace with hungry players who want to be here and play for the club. And contracts mean little just that we will get a fee I've heard from a good source josh is off can't comment on any others.
Thanks for the snide comments much appreciated. Oh let me see. Football agent do you want to stay at Barnsley Andy Yiadom or sign for a different club who will pay you 5 x as much. Oh Mr football agent. I will stay at a Barnsley... More seriously it's just the way if the world mate. Playera come and players go. We have the lowest wage budget according to Hecky so if anyone else at our level wants one of our players they will probably go.
I dont disagree with you, but every now & then we get the occasional good news re contracts such as Adam Davis & Angus, however , you are right that the agents pull the strings & by & large they instigate moves for their players.
I hate the massive turnover of players theses days, hard to have any affinity with players who are just passing through.
Not entirely true, this season and last we have had players who us fans have loved, Hourihane, Roberts, Watkins, Scowen, Isgrove, Fletcher etc etc. But I fear all that good progress will be undone and we will end up with players nowhere near good enough, just like the last time we were in the championship. Think Wiseman, Kennedy, Mcnumpty etc etc, it's hard to build up an affinity with players who are contributing to dire results on the pitch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thing is we have a transfer policy which has worked for us. We sign young hungry players who can make the step up like yidom, angus, bradshaw, mowatt ect..... Wiseman, Mcnumpty and Kennedy were all keefs pals we didn't help him scout them players he picked them off his own back. I don't know who we will sign in the summer or how we will do next season but regarding transfers we have signed some good players in the last 2 season's we have abit of a kitty and a good manager so hopefully we can suprise a few again. (Sorry for been optimistic)
I'll give you three of those but Mowatt has done naff all to be rated a good signing. Time might tell different but I've seen every game he's played in so far and up to now he's been no better than those you describe as Keef's pals.
