I don't think it helped that he seemed to be playing very deep in the first half. Having said that I thought he looked very steady. Also he seems to have lost quite a bit of weight since he first signed. Still hoping that he'll come good. The talent is clearly there.

Yeah he was steady, very steady . Doesn't look strong enough at the moment. Both him and Moncur (who i thought played well ) are probably suited to playing a more advanced role . Also I wonder why Hecky doesn't fancy Marley up top ?

I'm undecided I have to say. He is a passionate lad but seems to think and act and react a few milliseconds too slowly. A lot of work to do but I'm sure we can do it and help him develop.

I think next season is when we'll see the best of him after a full pre-season

I agree with this. Pre-Season can't come quick enough at present.

He'll settle, I have no doubt about that. His time to shine will come pre-season/next season when we haven't got Matty James making running the midfield look effortless. And if Josh goes, Mowatt could be our main man in the middle of the park.
I wouldn't mind seeing one of these famous 25 yarders before end of the season though.

Leeds fans said he was seriously lacking in the pace department which has been evident so far.

Neither Mowatt or Moncur so far look to have the workrate we have been requiring this season. Both look to be tippy tappy going nowhere footballers to me, which goes against our attacking quickly on the break. Mowatt maybe we could alter his approach, Moncur I would have straight art of the door.

Very harsh on Moncur. Gave us something different when he came on. I thought he did really well, and can only see him getting better.

Hecky changed formation, Wendies were satisfied with lead and all abart protecting it.

Mowatt looks way off the pace.

He looked better than his previous outings, but that ain't saying much, he was woeful in other games I've seen him in.

There's obviously a player in there & if anyone can get him back to form it's Hecky.
Moncur looked better though when he came on I thought.
Neither of them are better in that position than Scowen though, i.e. marauding midfielder

I thought Moncur actually defied our expectations of him being a lightweight, 'tippy-tappy' player. On the contrary, yesterday, I thought he looked dynamic, pacy and played with a real intent (just look at that driving run he made straight through their midfield). Still more to come from him, but I still think we have a real player we can work with.

Mowatt may take a little more work. I thought he made his best appearance for us yesterday, making a good few passes, but still went missing for long periods of the first half. I don't think the number 10 role in our 11 would flatter any player we currently possess - it simply doesn't work with how we like to play, hence the disappointment in playing 4-2-3-1 (but that's for another day). In that sense, he was always fighting a losing battle, in a position where it was always going to be hard work. I still believe Hecky and his staff can work their wonders on him. He'll just need to adapt to playing in a two and make sure he's at the heart of all we do, including working on his goal-creating. And when you put it like that, it sounds like a certain Irish midfielder we used to know. Only problem is, we're a division higher, and the pressure on him to develop is that much stronger. But in Hecky, we trust.
