I think all this talk about him not being popular is far fetched. We didn't sign him up because he was out of our budget otherwise we would have got him under a new contract. If he was a **** behind the scenes would we have offered someone a new contract who was disruptive? Would we have got promoted last season if he was a bad apple that his team mates didn't like? Doubt it. Scunny fans hate him because he did to them what he did to us in leaving for a club with better prospects, bigger crowds and for more money.

Seen nothing concrete to suggest his new mates don't like him. Plenty celebrated the goal with him setdy. If it wasn't for forcing a move to the local rivals and the picture coming out on the day of Rimmos funeral he would have got a good hand at the weekend (for another club) like Conor will if he ever returns to Oakwell. Same with other heros from last season like Bree, Isgrove, Fletcher etc.

I've seen Sheffield Wednesday play. Their prospects are no better than ours. They are massively in debt in a stadium that costs an absolute fortune to maintain due to years of being left to rot and they get extremely poor crowds for the size of their catchment area.

We on the other hand have a much nicer stadium with significantly lower running costs, we in my opinion have a better team and we have the entire Wakefield area as a potential untapped source of support if we choose to aim in that direction. I would say they certainly have no better prospects than us, the sole difference is they are already attacking their total catchment area and are in significant debt.

    Questions.

1 who the f*** is Tom Pope?
2 why should we give a toss about what he thinks?
3 in what way did we "treat him badly"?

I think you have missed the point. Tom pope is criticising winnall for his behaviour after Barnsley FC treated him so well while he was here. He is saying that he was related badly at Rotherham which is why his situation is so different to winnalls.

I don't think he played for Scunthorpe. Probably basing his opinion on him as an opposition player.

Ok, I only read the first tweet which must have been out of context.

Changing the subject totally, but picking up on that exact point - it's something I've been saying/thinking for years, but we never seem to do anything. Maybe Pontefract too. A bit of local advertising surely?

They were at Burton together though Winnall was in the reserves.

Can't say I follow his career myself but he implied he knows that Winnall is a tosspiece from when he played for Burton reserves.
