Obviously not sure if true, but a potential 750k bid being mentioned on their site. Not sure about him, not done anything below league 2 level. Let the rumour mill begin.....

Would have thought Gooden at Stevenage would be a better option. Out of contract free transfer with just as many goals in a worse team and more of an history of scoring goals for fun at his previous clubs, so not a one season wonder. Don't like idea of giving them 750k.

Not sure he'd be worth paying 750k for, He seems to have been brilliant this season scoring for fun, but he has scored more in this one last season than he had in the rest of his pro career so could just be a one season thing. Would prefer someone a little more proven at a higher level for that price. Especially when you consider we got Bradshaw who is younger for 100k less than that reported fee (which most likely is a made up fee) and bradshaw had scored 40 goals in 2 seasons at a higher level

I always thought he looked a handy player at Millwall to be honest. Had the season of his life down in league 2. Right sort of age and price.

Let's be honest, we aren't going to be signing a proven championship goalscorer. They all go for multiple millions, and if you look down in league 1, the 2 top scorers are over 30 years old and have little future value.

They'll be a auction by the looks... not be coming here.

First season he's had, might be a decent laiker but £750k is way too much

Or maybe he would think come barnsley get more of a chance to prove himself than any of the other teams when we were after bradshaw preston and rotherham were both interested and both had bids rejected for him. 750k is alot but some on here said the club had no ambition for not matching wigans 1million for bogle.......

Think Bogle is so far a bit of a warning that L2 to champ is a big step. Certainly for the £1m+ and £12k/wk Wigan reportedly had to part with to get him. Found the net in 2 games out of 12. Sure he'll find his feet in L1 and bridge the gap though. If Wigan can afford to keep the likes of him and Morsy now their parachute payments are over, their drop in revenue for L1 football....

12k a week for a player who had a good half a season in league two wow that's scary if true. Wigans problem will be getting him off their wage bill if they go down if he is on a few year deal.

Nottingham forest, Reading and Rotherham were all looking to sign him apparently. Don't know how Far any of them got, or if they offered him contracts. Sounds like Wigan panicked in January. Didn't someone say they gave Morsy £15k a week? Which is why our offer was blown out of the water. Really don't blame Morsy for signing back on at that!! And the manager at the time made it clear he wanted him to stay and help wigan avoid relegation. My hope is Morsy has a release fee and also a standard wage drop upon relegation clause that means we may be able to go back in for him. Would welcome him back.

From a technical point of view, Morsy would be a good signing but after deciding to stay at a club that looked as though they were gonna get relegated from Christmas, he's obviously in it for the money. Nothing necessarily wrong with that as we all have our own motivations but he'll be transfer listed in summer and may struggle to find a club willing to develop him. At least Winnall and Hourihane ****** us off for sides that will be playing Championship football or higher next season.

But on the flip side Morsy stayed at his parent club to help them try to avoid relegation? He was welcomed back by the club and old Linton fecked about with his contract so long by the time we made an official offer to Wigan he was back in their team, playing regularly, and was seen as their only hope to staying up.

Don't think they'll transfer list him though as that would mean they pay up the rest of his contract. Imagine they'll have built in all sorts of relegation related clauses to his contract. If they didn't they may well be screwed. Although can see someone like the Blunts going in for him and matching his wage.

I've never understood this strange phrase, don't they always score for fun? Isn't playing football fun? Or are they so professional that when the ball arrives at their feet in front of a gaping goal they suddenly think "oh no here we go again, can I be arsed to stick it past the 'keeper? Roll on full-time when I can put my feet up and have a jar with my mates. If I do score I suppose I'll have to do some sort of stupid celebration, bugger it, I'll put it in the stands."

I would be surprised if he opted to leave Donny after promotion to League One, but we can offer a good transfer fee, so might be in with a chance. My top option would still be Matt Godden, though, and I think we would have a better chance with him. He has links with the area, if you include South Humberside. I would make him top option. Another Sam Winnall by type of player and scoring ability - and I mean that in the best way - ie in terms of footballing ability. Godden - rising star. But don't forget McGeehan and Olly Watkins either.
