Just after the winner went in, fighting broke out in the stands. Radio Sheffield had the cheek to say that they couldn't tell what team the people fighting were supporting, despite it being in he home end. Only at Bramhall Lane do they celebrate promotion by fighting amongst themselves. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Harder for us now which sucks. They will be after the same kind of player as us and now they can offer championship football on top of better wages.
Chuff me pal, it's a beautiful day ,we've won away, I'm having a girly gin and tonic in the garden, I've lost a quid on the national, lifes good. But oh no ! Beware of dem promoted blades dey'll steal your children if your not aware !!
Dunt really matter though, we won today, that's all that matters. We are the Barnsley and we are the best, we are Barnsley and **** all the rest . Bless em all bless am all........
Took them long enough. But my Sheffield United supporting friends will be happy tonight. Let them have their day. Next season lets hope we spoil their party by defeating them a couple of times.
Yes they took their time in what was meant to be an easy division. I suppose it will be interesting seeing us play them again at this level.
We have the knowledge of this division while they will come in as novices. Hopefully they will struggle.
Bristol city fans thought that this season..... haRd to take you seriously after the 300k for conor statement 14 months back
Great win, great double, great away record this season, and most importantly we will be playing Championship football next season. Massive summer coming up now in terms of recruitment in and out. As for Sheffield United, Dreamboy makes a good point, they will be looking at more or less the same players, but are a more attractive proposition to players and will be able to more than match us in terms of wages. On the other hand the above poster raises a good point, Bristol City were expected to finish above us, also Wolves, and a few other teams this season. So who knows. In all seriousness though.... See for this season they probably wanted some of the same players and offered them more money, but we get them because we could offer championship football. Now they can also do that and carry on offering bigger wages we have lost our trump card and it will be an whole lot harder for Hecky.
I actually agree. We might take the mickey, but now they're Championship again they're one more club with more to offer players in terms of finance. I'm glad folk are realising what we're up against.
To be honest there arent any clubs who we can say we have a greater appeal over, when it comes to players looking for a new club to join at this level. But its not always down to money, and if it did come down to good management and good football, then hopefully thats where we will be able to step up.
Well we have a couple of things going for us. Firstly we're known for advancing careers of players - can Sheffield United say the same the last few years? Players know if they come to us they have a good chance of becoming a better player and advancing their careers because of it. Secondly, we're known for our style of play. We try and play the right way and people have noticed as much. Yes we don't have the finances but I do think we're a very attractive proposition
Dem Blades just makes it a more attractive division to be in, in terms of rivalry. This division is going to be tougher next season than this due to the teams coming up and down but more importantly the teams that should have got in the play offs at least this term have faltered and will go again next year. Villa, Norwich, Derby will all be on it again next year with better managers this time around. Poor play offs this year, Reading have actually got a negative goal difference and still well set for the play offs...has that happened before?
