I've acknowledged elsewhere that we won without a recognised striker. Still doesn't mean he has enough options. I hope he has more next season.

 

I expect he will do, but not massively more.

But again, he chose to use just Watkins yesterday, it was the game plan. He left two strikers on the bench and both Lee and Hedges can play up top. Had Brown not been struck down with injury in January he would have been in the 18 regularly too. He's the most exciting youngster I've seen since Holgate.

Be excited about the summer, don't worry about it. We are going through a real period of relative success and progress. Enjoy it. Because we are Barnsley and it never lasts forever.

 

I think Moncurs inclusion yesterday was a masterstroke. He was so lively from the off, and looking to join up with Watkins. Blackburn didn't get chance to settle into the game before they were two down.

Hearing good reports of Moncur's performance which is positive. How did Hedges play?

Moncur reminded me of Butterfield. Quick feet, tried to get shots off, doesn't waste a ball. But poor in the tackle and air. I rate him.

Hedges did nothing bad, nothing great. He works hard, he's technically sound and great in the air. Reminds me of Marley when he first signed. He will be a big player for us next season I guess.

 

Is Dylan Mottley-Henry injured Whitey? Been off the scene since signing new contract in December. Though I saw he was at a community event recently

 

Been injured for months, aye. Shame as he looked bright at the start of the season and nearly made the squad a few times. Was nice to see Jared Bird involved yesterday. Decent young midfielder.
