Is becoming a real fans favourite, very similar to how ooh gerry gerry was back in the day. His "man and ball" challenge and stare yesterday were a joy to watch. Type of thing that gets the crowd going. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Immediately after their goal. Winnall did that celebration, then put a dirty tackle in on Scowen I think. Then MacDonald clattered him straight after that. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
His tackle away at Leeds is still my highlight of the season. I love Gus. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Ah yes! I'd forgotten about that one. Had to be right as well as I think it was just inside the area? Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
It's the sort of tackle that usually nowadays would probably get a booking (or a red as he was the last man iirc), as it was from behind. But I reckon the ref thought, 'fair play lad'. Proper old fashioned tackle. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Got to be worth a video being made just of Gus going in hard with the challenges like the three mentioned in this thread and what others could be found.
Great player....a real fans favourite. If he has a fault it's the seemingly endless number of times he hits a clearance or a free kick too long. Hecky needs to work on that in training....or get someone else to take free kicks in the defensive half.
Will be putting a video together of clips of the POTY contenders. Would imagine Goose will be included. Conor won't.
I was being facetious to be fair. I honestly don't know yet whether he, Sam and Bree will be included. I'm all for allowing them into the vote, because I believe none of them would win anyway. I think we've a handful of current players who'd still garner more votes. But then, I can't think of another occasion where a player who left halfway through won our POTY. Can you? FTR, it's not down to me which way we go. I wish I had that kind of power.
It has never happened. Every winner in the history of the club has still been at the club at the end of the season. Plenty have left straight after though.
Marc Roberts for me has been our player of the season. Hourihane would have walked it, but he walked & few on here begrudged him that. Angus is probably the most improved player & is definitely becoming a fan's favourite.
Gus is one of my favourite players. He's really taken the step uo in his stride. Love him in the side.
The reason it's never happened is because those that have left I don't think are ever included and this year probably will be no different. Hope it is though so if a current player still wins they can say they have won on merit and without any doubt that they may have won by default.
He's great, he doesn't seem your typical footballer either. Think he's just up here with his dog as all his family are from down south. Seems to spend his days walking his dog round New Miller Dam & other parks rather than in Nando's & nightclubs. Obviously a top bloke too with his charity work. Him, Roberts, Scowen & Watkins are what I love in a Barnsley player, hard as nails, dedicated & the talent to go with it. And you can throw Yiadom in with them 4 as well, can't imagine what he went through with the dislocated shoulder against Wednesday & having to keep putting it back in place
