We were the novices this season and look how we started. At one point we were 2nd/3rd , so Blades being novices.... The promotion impetus does carry on into a new season so do not underestimate them. Plus they have fantastic financial backing which we do not have.
Yep - they will be in the Premeirship before Barnsley under Barnsleys present stewardship. Different mindset - their directors think they are a Premeirship club. Barnsley directors believe we are doing well if we stay above the relegation zone in the Championship
It's why i'd prefer less local derbies so it doesn't make attracting players as hard. For example say last summer this happened..... Player: Barnsley and United both want me. United are offering way more money but i'll sign for Barnsley as they play in an higher league. This summer it's more..... Player: Barnsley and United both want me. Both can offer me same division football but i'll sign for United for the bigger wage. Was shocked how many wanted them promoted on here for the sake of one extra home derby a season. That wasn't worth the bother of how much tougher attracting players will be. Lets hope it's a Scunthorpe or preferably Fleetwood through the play offs and not Bradford.
Doesn't that work with any club though? Player: Barnsley and Bolton both want me. Bolton are offering way more money but i'll sign for Barnsley as they play in an higher league. This summer it's more..... Player: Barnsley and Bolton both want me. Both can offer me same division football but i'll sign for Bolton for the bigger wage
I doubt if we'll even be in for the same players as they are. Recruitment wasn't a major issue for us when we were competing against them in league one.
Aye, because their directors have done a great job haven't they? In the time they've been in L1 we have been down and back up whilst winning two trophies at Wembley and finishing higher than they've managed since 2007. Listen, I made the point that in terms of finance Sheff Utd will outdo us. When has that never been the case? Very rare. But don't try telling me they're better run than our club. In fact, the idea that they think they belong in the Prem (like Wednesday) is probably the reason they both struggle like ****. Delusions of grandeur. I like the fact our club is grounded in reality and works with real events.
Completely disagree. I am glad Sheff Utd are in our division again. I hope Bradford make it up too. And that Leeds, Wednesday and Huddersfield stay here. These clubs aren't competing with us for players. But they all guarantee two big games next season. Give me a local game over games against Blackburn and Reading any day. Shame Rotherham are gone.
I suggest you put a bid in for the club young nudger, being that you never miss an opportunity to criticise the club, I am sure you would do an amazing job, or just go & support Sheffield utd !
We've beat far bigger teams than Sheffield United this season.I for one don't see them as a threat to us next season.
Sheff Utd won't have the budget Wigan had this season, with their parachute payments. They'll have more to spend than us, but that will go for nearly everyone, other than Burton, assuming they stay up. Like the derby matches. They are the sort of games we all talk about. We're losing Rotherham & might lose one of Hudds, Leeds or Wendy, so glad to be playing them next season. Would like Bradford or Fleetwood to come up too. Two good away days.
They won't be after the same players as us every time. Championship is full of highly paid players who are in mediocre teams. They've always had a better budget than us I'd guess, but I can't see their budget being on a scale where they can stockpile players. What they do have, in my opinion, just like us, is a good manager/ head coach and some momentum to carry over the summer. I'm glad they're up with us again. Championship has the makings of a hell of a division next season. Sent from my SM-T710 using Tapatalk
