That Penalty is by far the softest I have ever seen in my life. Looks like their bloke slipped and no one even appealed for it.
Can't see Wigan enjoying such outrageous luck again to be honest. If they do they might even stay up..
One of them nights, I'd usually say. Can't say we deserved three points if I'm honest. However, the referee decided this result. And his decisions were appalling. What you won't see in those brief highlights is him giving Wigan every other decision second half.
Davies has been Mr. Reliable for a long time but I'm sorry there's no defending those two goals and the clanger against Swfc. Absolutely routine bit of goalkeeping- Simply cover near post for the first and get your body behind the ball for the 2nd.
Poor refereeing without a doubt. We shouldn't have been in a position where it could affect the game though as Davies really should have prevented both the first two goals. Great keeper but a poor display. Same may be true of the ref, dunno.
The defensive wall should have done better with their free kick goal and I dont think Davies saw it till it was too late. But wouldnt we normally expect him to do better there. Their striker was very quick to react to the rebound before any of our defenders, so once again Davies might say he was let down by them. I think he was at fault again though to be honest for not gathering the ball or pushing it away to safety. As for the penalty and goal disallowed theres simply no way to describe such appalling refereeing.
The penalty shocking the disallowed goal, another thread has a view from behind the goals and to me Bradshaw blocks the keeper and makes a back for him to go over.
