We were never really at it. I was absolutely delighted to be 2 up, as we hadn't really done anything but score the two goals. Up to that stage, we had spent most of the evening in our own half. Our distribution was awful wigan kept coming onto us, but didn't look capable of troubling us. We won comfortably on Saturday so I was a bit surprised hecky changed formation and personnel for this one, and we looked light in midfield because of it, but hey! We found ourselves 2 0 up so who was complaining?! At 2 0 we then looked for a little while like we could inflict further damage - then it was 2-2 within no time. If hecky had stuck and brought on scowen and taken off a striker, we could have had our 10th away win of the season, whilst playing really poorly, but he decided to twist and we probably got what the performance deserved. We didn't have anyone sent off though Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Yeah on 80 minutes. They had already scored two goals by that time. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Ive posted elsewhere Fitz that I was happy to see him change and go with the more popular 4-4-2, but yes I suppose he was changing a winning formation. Hindsight is ace and its easy, and I bet Hecky might have changed things if he had the chance again. Sometimes there are games where we dont deserve to be 2-0 down and on this odd occasion, we didnt deserve to be 2-0 ahead. Now that Ive calmed down (a bit!), the bigger picture goes beyond tonight of course. Its all about Hecky's plans for next season now and we're all going to have to wait for that. Id like to see us make it 10 away wins because its away at Bristol City of course, and I hope we can take at least 4 points from our remaining home games. It will be something to appreciate if we do make it over 60 points.
Oh yeah, I always try to see the bigger picture and haven't seen much to moan about this season, but just thought tonight was as poor as we've been for most of the season, yet could have taken the points. I'm a 442 man myself, but having been so comfortable on Saturday, I fully expected a similar approach. Onto Monday! Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
I was almost throwing things around the room as well in anger earlier, I couldnt believe how badly we threw that one away before the ref even got involved. Ive never liked a 1 up front formation so I do hope the 4-4-2 figures more regularly in his plans for the future. On the whole though, yes this season has been a good one to look back on considering that we were being fobbed off as relegation fodder again back in August.
It's been brilliant mate. At 2 0 we were talking about that being our 10th away game of the season, then Powell came on for them. Should have given him a cloak all considered Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
And there was me wondering whatever happened to Nick Powell who used to present on Calendar, hes now playing and scoring for Wigan Fc. Hes done well for himself hanst he
My mate was on about him on the way home tonight. I couldn't picture him though. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
On the subject of him/Powell as a presenter or interviewer, remember when he annoyed Howard Wilkinson after one of Leeds' hilarious European thrashings. He shoved a mic in front of him on the touchline and kind of said 'so Howard, how do you feel after that ?'
