British Sea Power 'Let the Dancers inherit the Party' Stranger Things Soundtrack Vol 1 & 2 The Cure Entreat Plus. All vinyl. Looking forward to Record Store Day next Saturday.
Pretty much like all that stuff. More late night than early morning in my world but there's a rawness and edge that attracts me.
Can't do links on the mobile but currently ennoying: Anna Meredith - Varmints Jesus and Mary Chain - Damage and Joy Idles - Brutalism Looking forward to hearing the British Sea Power album.
Are you only buying vinyl from now on or are you replacing your back catalogue with vinyl? I'd like to get into vinyl but it seems to be very expensive since it's renassaince.
Been enjoying the Jesus and Mary Chain album this week. I bought a brand new Thousand Yard Stare double EP last week that's due for delivery soon, 8 tracks so that's an album for me! We've only been waiting 25 years for this!!
In an effort to avoid being a sad middle aged **** I'm only buying Vinyl that's new to me. You are right about it being expensive but I guess for my part it's helped made me a bit more discerning. Where I used to buy 15 Cds a month I buy maybe 5 vinyls but it's stuff I have researched and like. You dshould check out the Record Store Day stuff. It covers all bases. jumbo in Leeds put on a good day. record Collector in Sheffield is also good.
'kin ell, that went out of the window when I had kids, I've **** loads of cd's sat in the garage plus my old technics stereo system( the Mrs sneaked that out of the living room when I was at work), sithi.
New releases seem to start at about eighteen quid which is not too bad I suppose, whereas CDs seem to be less than a tenner. I think the attraction of vinyl is that I like to have all my music in physical form and vinyl looks better than CD, I'm not convinced that the sound is so different to make more of a listening experience. Saying that, some CDs are very well presented these days - especially the cases which are like hard backed books with glossy pages.
The physical thing was the reason I started back on the vinyl and you're right it just looks better. I listen to downloads to listen to stuff I wouldn't buy but am interested in if that makes sense. Sound I'd say old crackly vinyl has a different sound which some people find better. To get good sound out of new vinyl you have to have a decent record player.
Had the pleasure of seeing them live 5 times over the last 18 months, sounding better than ever really! wasn't you in the stargazer t shirt at the Wednesday match? If not there's 3 of us in town
Last album I actually purchased was in Poundland. They have a surprisingly good selection of refurbished pre-used CDs for a quid each.
Enjoyed Persefone but not really my genre of rock to listen to ,good fun live though ,used to follow Anvil of Doom after seeing them in Spain ,I'm in the crowd somewhere on this clip, chuffin red hot it was
