Safety secured. Best Championship points total since 2001 almost certain. 2-0 up and seemingly cruising. It looked to me (from radio commentary/highlights) as though it wasn't so much complacency after 70 minutes but simply a loss of concentration. But it's been a magnificent return to the Championship (notwithstanding January) and proof positive that the Head Coach, his staff and the current squad are well up to this level. If we can garner another four points from the remaining four fixtures then 60 points would be a tremendous total on our return. Challenges ahead for sure, but if we can get the new CEO through the door and do a good early job on recruitment, no reason to think we can't do as well next year.

One other thing: we'd trade last night's result for that absolutely critical result in this fixture 12 months ago. That's where it all started! In three days time it will be 49 years to the day when my Dad first took me down to Oakwell on an Easter Monday to see us beat Brentford 3-0. A repeat will do nicely!

Apart from the Brentford game stuff (49 years ago!), I don't know if I could echo that more strongly. I remember talking to a mate (non-Reds fan) in Nov 15 as Altrincham dumped us out of the cup and just taking it as normal.

The last 18 months have been bloody fantastic considering where we were. A decent summer (which is looking pretty possible) will set us up nicely.

Nice coincidence the Brentford game. For me, I'll go into the summer with my usual outlook, that is! Looking forward to the coming season, (especially a Championship season) a good amount of hope, but try to balance that with a similar amount of realism. I really don't Foresee a relegation looming. Having said that, No outcome of the season would take me by surprise

Agree with all of that. I was fuming last night, seething at us seemingly chucking a game against relegation fodder.

But, it doesn't really matter overall. We can't go down or up and while it'd have been nice to have won, we've still had a great season. Be nice if we put it right Monday though.

Yes exactly, I also felt the same and nearly lost it a few times on here at the end of that match last night.
But after calming down a bit I mentioned we will move on from this now and there is of course a bigger picture to think about, and thats Hecky's & the boards plans for next season and beyond. And yes it will be good if we can make the 60+ points, and we've still got a good chance of doing that.

We have come a long way in what feels like a short time and are still finding out things about this division, and Im glad that we havent been involved in the relegation scrap at all this season. Far from it actually, we've always been top half for most of it. If we only finish mid table or below again next season I will take that right now, but who knows eh, maybe we will keep on surprising people who knock us and keep writing us off at every opportunity.
