At 2 0 up I was proudly talking about our 10th away win of the season last night. Didn't quite work out that way, but what a season on the road eh? Even some of the ones we've lost have been tight affairs. Yesterday was typical of why we've done so well on the road (although we lost) we just scored from nowhere. Onus is on the home team to have the possession and hem us in. Any mistake on their part and we're out and at them with pace on the counter. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Absolutely right. So referring to an earlier thread, would we sign Ryan Kent if we could? Definitely. Not yet a polished player but him and his blistering pace can take the action from a defensive position, to an attacking situation, in a flash.
Kents not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm in agreement with you. I'd have him back next season. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Remember the days when we used to struggle like crazy away from home? I used to be happy if we pinched a 0-0 draw, now I think we can go anywhere and pick up points.
Ohh yes those shocking away seasons where we'd be lucky to win 3 out of 23!! Some things that have impressed me the most this season have been our fitness levels, and our speed, and our intelligent quick breaks/counter attacks. admittedly Kent has played his part in that but its clear he wont want to come back to us long term.
The way we counter attack away from home is brilliant. I've never seen a Barnsley side do it as good as we do now. Next season will be a different tale though, our home form will be crucial next season as I just can't see us replicating this seasons away form.
