You could tell the pressure was off. Good open game. But a few things bothered me. One was they need to calm down a little when the game is frantic and not get flustered. We play better on the floor especially in midfield. Also they could take a second to look up and see a runner a bit more regular. When Bradshaw went off for AA I thought it would go back to how we played in the 1st half. Ball on the floor. Running the channels because thats where AA is most dangerous. I cant wait for the summer. I hope Hecky does business early and gets the first team settled with a good preseason. The bond in the team is brilliant
That's pretty much how I see it too. And really looking forward to seeing who we sign. The main key is who we bring in to replace James. I wouldn't mind a similar loan and give whoever we sign get up to full speed next year. Moncur/Mowett/Kay challenging for the other spot. Upfront reckon we will have far better options than Armstrong and Bradshaw. Although Bradshaw will hopefully be better for this fairly tough year in championship. If we can replace Matty James well then I am confident we'll start next season with a better first team than started today's match. Assuming Hammill and Yiadom are both fit start of next season!
If he was going to be 6/7 in line then fair do's. Imagine he will be 4th behind Moncur, Mowett and Sessi (5th if Josh signs). So a couple of other CMs in summer and doubt he would get many chances. Be an interesting summer that's for sure!
Midfield is generally where most teams have most numbers. If we start the season with Moncur, Williams, Mowatt, Scowen, Sessi and Kay then that would be brilliant. Balanced, all types of midfielders as and when needed. Building a good balanced squad with academy starlets pushing for a serious place is the key for Hecky. A lot of work needed but thats what its all about!
If we start the season with only Moncur, Williams, Mowatt, Scowen (unlikely), Sessi and Kay in midfield, then we are fecked! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
