Maybe it should be homosexual/'insert slang of your choice" Plus it needs to be considered whether the average Heterosexual Barnsley fan knows what heterosexual is and needs additional information. I would anticipate the average gay Barnsley fan tends to know that they are homosexual and not just happy in a 1930's abandonment kind of way.

I'm guessing because no-one ever used straight as an insult. Gay people generally don't call themselves 'bent' and it was originally used by hetero people to insult gay people. Hetero people will happily tell everyone that they are straight because that is their way of saying they are 'not bent'. I agree it's got nothing to do with football but if the survey finds that we don't have as many gay supporters as you would expect then it's worth looking at why and how we can try and include everyone. None of the questions they asked had anything to do with football.
What's it got to do with football - probably the club need to demonstrate "diversity statistics" to the FA to support the lottery funding the sport as a whole gets. You may remember Barry getting into some bother about this when MP's criticised the FA for having an all white male board.
