You can sell the club all you want but when you are paying 1/3 of other clubs it's a tough sell

    Back with a bang Phil...

The fact you say twice in the same post that it's not a wind up suggests it actually is!!

    Anyway.

    Bree better than janko? Yes.

Winnall better than Bradshaw? Yes. **** but yes.

Hourihane better than James? Maybe not, James is an excellent laiker, but yes in terms of assists, goals, set piece delivery. James doesn't come close there.

Heckingbottom didn't sanction the sales of anyone in January. He didn't ask Mansford to go to Leeds in the summer before his squad was finalised and he certainly didn't want Linton brown to **** off just as we needed someone to sort deals in the January window.

He also didn't make our owner very ill, meaning he's been nowhere around the club but tempted to cash in. His call.

Heckingbottom isn't criticised hugely because in the main he's done magnificently. Was moncur a good signing? Was mowatt? On previous evidence you'd say no but they might well prove brilliant next year.

We are desperate for at least two centre forwards in the summer.

It is well known we have irons in the fire re recruitment too. For once we could have most in (and out) well in advance of the season.

It will only be fair to start issuing judgement on him after ten or so games next season, he had the heart ripped out of his side this year and we've also been safe for ages. With players on loan and running contracts down, you'd hardly expect any of the squad to want to do a zlatan, and ruin anything they might get in the summer.

I've not seen today but look at Brentford's equaliser Monday. Good pass but there was no urgency to track the run or close the man down before he played it. On the beach syndrome.

Nice try hemsy, stick to rating the youngsters in the u18s and u23s as you are genuinely good at that, and a very interesting read.

One of the daftest threads I've seen.
But not unexpected - and I'm expecting more digs at Hecky next season if we struggle in anyway.

But like I've said in the past - if there is any criticism of Hecky then all that needs to be said is.......01/17

This is true. But I don't think we are struggling - not till we get up front.

So all in all, Hecky to blame

It's impressive you say Bree isn't better than Janko when you bulled him up massively all the time. I'd forget signing the Swiss man then

Im not sure about Payne either, but I dont think hes had a fair chance and the injuries have come at the wrong time for him. And seeing as he was back from injury at that time, it was an idiotic decision to send him out on loan again, whoever was to blame for it.

James Bree a massive talent and I see some on here couldn't wait to tuck into him last week when he played really well before that and okay might have had a off game in a formation he wasn't used to against a very good team.

But janko was the player I was most looking forward to see of the summer arrival. At right back in the right system he's got it all. TBH I think he's the best we've got in all our systems. Attacking full backs for me are a must and of the right backs we've got or had this season I would put bree at number two with a massive future but Janko at one. He's not that old either. Read last week they didn't want him and I hope Barnsley are in for him. Think Celtic at looking to see with lustic or whatever thy call him and him who they got from West Brom.

You do spout some drivel, on what basis do you suddenly come to the conclusion that Payne is the new Messiah ?

Because Hecky let him go and Hecky is popular with the fans. It is how HT works.

When have I ever said anything of the sort?

I bring him and the strange loan of Payne because he offers something slightly different to what we have.

A transfer in was almost there. We could not get it over the line for whatever reason. The offer for Payne had come in and the club wanted him to get game time as he had missed a lot through injury AND is considered a defensive liability.

Anyway, we've got the Geordie Superman, we don't need anyone else.

Oh and in your OP you allude that we have "missed out" on Fletcher twice. He's never been available.

Paul heckingbottom actually said that he was never close to signing a striker in January.

He was banging on about not saying anything unless it's 100% done and that we just need to keep going when he was talking about players coming in. Maybe he should use his own advice. Like I said in the original post, been from Barnsley might make some not want to say anything but it certainly won't me and it won't make anyone else in the league less ruthless against us.

Also not sure I ever said or meant we were close to Fletcher, not sure I ever said we should signed that player but someone like him.
