66/1 to get promotion the auto route and 16/1 via playoffs. Blunts 40/1 and 5/1 and 9/1 for relegation. So, top of the table for relegation already, where do they get it from. Mind it is the Vital Football site.

I think if we'd have just missed out on Automatic promotion on goal difference and then lost to a late controversial goal in the play-off final, many out there would still have us down as a relegation content ended. It's li'l old Barnsley innit.

Have you not kept an eye on the scores since the club allowed our key players to leave? Are you aware that most of the key players that remain will likely leave? Our league position is artificially inflated due to the first half of the season. At best we will be an unknown entity low on confidence and quality.

Because we won't sign anyone this summer. We'll sell everyone else - and on the off chance we do sign players Hecky & co have a **** track record in developing players.

Looks about right. Us, Burton, blunts, Bolton and the other L1 promotion team will struggle I suspect. More than happy to be wrong obviously

Our league position is not artificially inflated at all. We are where we deserve to be. So we discount the first half of the season when we did well but count the second half coz results haven't been great. It's a marathon not a sprint.

Yes - the pundits look at the facts that most Championship sides will build on what they have.
While Barnsley have to recruit in Heckys words at least 12 new players.

If those players need developing then it's likely to take time - other teams don't allow you that time in the Championship.

Under those circumstances Barnsley will do extremely well next season to avoid bottom 6.
Unless of course - the players brought in can hit the ground running.

I would say it's 50/50 whether Barnsley will be in a relegation fight next season.
As always - the burden is on the shoulders of Hecky and his backroom staff.
