Eight goals from Bradshaw. Nowhere near good enough.

It's clear Hecky doesn't rate Payne so we will need three new strikers. Can't see that happening but we live in hope.

Same could be said of Moncur though. Obviously different circumstances, but he looked like he was out on his ear.

I wouldn't write anyone off just yet.

I think that the fact we were down to the bare bones and still loaned him confirms the manager's opinion.

We can only assume what Hecky thinks of him. It's just as likely he was sent out to get back up to speed after an injury.

Hecky could be regretting letting him go? We can only guess

I can't imagine Hecky was impressed that he couldn't do all the jobs expected of him

I don't think this is necessarily true. Pretty sure we were expecting a replacement for Winnall that night

Well Fitzy, I`d like to see more of him, Payne that is, but does Hecky, couldn`t get my head rarnd the loan move as he offered us something different to what we have ended up with since Jan.

Hopefully he'll have done enough at Shrewsbury to warrant hecky giving him another chance in pre season.

As you rightly say, we really could have done with something different since January.

Im only guessing here about Stefan Payne and I hope Im wrong, but I also think he will be sold as 'not being good enough etc.'.
I think if he had been given more matches this season he might even have done better than Tom Bradshaw, and yes I agree he was unlucky with injuries.
He offers a different option to what Armsrtong did up front alongside Bradshaw, but theres still no getting away from the fact that Armsrtong was/is a better goalscorer. Bradshaw has been very disappointing for me in his first season, although I do understand its been his first ever season at this level.

Agreed. We've had quite a few players over the years that our fans have deemed "not good enough" for one reason or another.

Jon Walters, Chris Woods, Jay Rodriguez and even Michael Chopra and Winnall in their early stages at the club.

Whining in the Sheffield Telegraph about his inability to break into Meerkat Carlo's starting eleven.
Says that only getting one start in the last five games is frustrating.
Hoping to be selected in the play off team following his goal against Fulham on Sunday.
Serves him reyt if he drops him completely for speaking out and finds himself farmed out on loan
    next Season.!

I feel striker is the most important position that we need to focus upon. Bradshaw did do well in the brief spell up front with Winnall in December. We probably need 3 strikers unless someone in the development squad or fringes steps up. The club isn't ignorant of the obvious so will clearly be working to find several good strikers as we need!

Jon Walters was ***** at Oakwell. All the hindsight in the world doesn't change that.

    In your opinion.

It's not hindsight on my part. I thought he looked a good young player.

We've had a few that didn't do well with us. Chris Woods was one
Must say I agree with CT I was underwhelmed with him. Chris Woods never did owt either.
Other cods we dropped were letting Jordan Rhodes leave the Academy, we decided that Demba Ba wasn't for us after he'd been on trial ( now earning $6.7 million pa at Besiktas) and we didn't up our offer for Charlie Adams when he left Rangers for Blackpool.

Speaking of Charlie Adam and Blackpool, I rated Keigan Parker who was another goalscoring midfielder for the Lashers, but for some reason our interest in him seemed to fade all of a sudden.
And if Im honest, I also think Jon Walters & Chris Wood were both garbage during their loans with us.
