Stick wi tarn Hecky. What you got at Norwich? Ed Balls?!! Here you've got Big Gus and Robbo who know exactly how to...'ed balls.
I wouldn't want anyone from our academy as our next first team coach. The people there must be on thin ground because they produce nothing and so we sign up non league players to put in the developmental squad and very few of these have been a success, especially recently. I'd think if he did go we'd bring in someone from the outside.
He's my aunties uncle... Well, she's no longer my auntie as she left my uncle but yano. He's been at many family doos and I've pestered him about this numerous times and I always got the same answer... 'Not a cat in hells chance'
Don't blame him at all. Wilson ruined his legacy a bit by coming back and Hendrie did by failing as our manager. Hayes was shocking when he came back for a second spell after being brilliant first time around. Best to be remembered highly without risking it not working out second time around.
Mick was offered the job on at least three occasions by The Greengrocer and politely declined each time. Too many fond memories of the club and town to put at risk if it went tits-up. Hosses mouth and that.
Odds on favourite for Canaries hot seat appears to be Uwe Rosler. Odds are shortening for Steve McLaren to be named as Middlesbrough's new boss. Interesting times.
I saw this thread and it took me a while to realise it was from March. Phew! Here's to many more great years with Hecky hopefully! Also shows how little bookies and papers know a lot of the time
No and the fact the odds have changed so often shows how difficult it can be to see an obvious favourite Rosler the favourite now odds on; Hecky a long way out at 16/1
A friend in the know at Norwich seems adamant that hecky has been down there for an interview not sure what there is in it
Wouldn't be surprised one bit and who could blame him? Their board will back him and will only sell their best players when they get relegated from the Premier League. Hecky loves the club but unfortunately the **** up during this second half of the season was only ever gonna push him away rather than keep him if somebody bigger came in. The only reason he probably didn't go to Forest is because they're a shambles. If he wasn't a Barnsley fan and had a neutral footing like Lee Johnson had, he may have already been gone.
I don't think he would already have been gone. He's a bloke doing a job. He doesn't think like football fans, and neither do the players. I think it's too easy for us as fans to imagine that people at football clubs see things like we do, and look for things that aren't there, ie reading between lines in interviews. Unless Hecky thinks like Hemsworth Tyke, in which case he'd probably sack himself! Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
To my mind the comments in yesterday's Chronicle " 2016/17 has been pleasing but now focusing on the summer transfer window which is expected to be the busiest he has negotiated as head coach." The team picked up 58 points which is the most a Barnsley side have collected at Championship level since 199/2000. Hecky's take was " That's a big achievement. There have been a lot of seasons at this level since then so that shows how well we've done. Then you compare the difference in budgets from what Barnsley used to have to what they have now. We have to improve on this season because there are lots of things we can get better at regardless of money." " It's going to be a big turnaround in players this summer but hopefully that means we can begin a process of building instead of taking one step forward and one step back. It will be my busiest window in terms of numbers". They surely are not the words of a man thinking of going anywhere soon in my opinion. He would have just thanked everybody for their efforts and kept quiet until announcements he was leaving were made....surely.!!!
Apparently Naarich have said that their main choice is still in a job at the moment, and that his clubs season isnt over yet. Hopefully this means its not Hecky!
Maybe Fitz, but I cant help but wonder if Wagner is a one season wonder, just like his Huddersfield team are. If theres any truth to what I mentioned above, it could also suggest Jap Staam or even Carlos the Jackal Carvallho lol.
