I would have thought they would have stripped it all off at once if they were doing the roof. Makes no sense to replace sides then risk damaging them by removing the roof.
Just wish they would get it done quickly. I used to sit in that end of the west stand, where there are fewer steps for my nackered legs to cope with. I currently have to cope with a lot more steps (and a less comfortable seat) in the centre of the stand. When I last asked, before renewing my season ticket, they seemed very unsure about when the work will be done, and when I can return to my much better seat.
"New" looks to me like they are putting some of the old one's back up, I can see the faded o from the oakwell ales ad that used to be on there , sithi.
I hope they don't change a thing. Bloody love the west stand. It has character. Something which most grounds lack these days. Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk
I'm wi thee on that apart from that ugly television gantry, rag that fcuker down get barnsley fc put back on the gable and give the old girl a lick of paint, job done, sithi.
I reckon if they knock it down they should pay someone to glue all the Ben shaws bottles back together, get their 10 pences back and put it towards a new club car park stencilling kit for when we get a CEO
It'll be new cladding going on probably to match the same as ponty or east stand , maybe clear to let more light in
On that subject, broken bottles on the wall behind the west stand, surely this breaches health & safety?
On that subject (health and safety), do we need to do something about the metal girders in the away end that people like to climb upon? And, dare I say it, provide lighting around those bollards by the East Stand that people are constantly walking into?
It doesn't help that you have one swarm of people heading for the big car park and another coming the other way. Collisions, chaos and crushed bollards. Painful combination
