Presumably with Kenny Moyes and his assistant. First move will be to fire Hecky and appoint Nigel Packman as his replacement with Kevin Donovan as player-coach. And then build a load of houses on the car park.
I briefly spoke to Ben a few weeks ago and he said there wasn't a chance. Now things may have changed but I'd be surprised...
Maybe so - can't speculate on why but it seemed a non starter from our conversation. As I say things may have changed significantly.
I have been told that there is a possible takeover, by a Chinese consortium or a Chinese family and that they have been for look round Oakwell with Mr Cryne., Wonder if Whitey can confirm.
Was told this by my work colleague earlier. Charity golf day at Silkstone on Friday and Mansford was playing with Hecky and Disco in a group then my colleague was speaking with Mansford and said he's heard rumours of a return and Mansford's words were "nothing official just yet but yes."
No Jack Pallance that Whitey can confirm or deny what are the Clubs policy/business decisions IMO. He's not employed to do that. Like any new signings we will just have to wait for the official announcement(s). Judging by the "frosty " parting of the ways last time round I would be surprised if it is Ben Mansford.
Anybody else stunned by the implication in the OP that, if correct, we seemingly got to the verge of appointing someone who couldn't speak English as CEO?! I know the 'Don' struggled with the native tongue and Ben manipulated it into BS but that would have been even more bizarre than employing Wiseman and Kennedy as full-backs!
I thought it was very strange, but I dint think it would stop the Oakwell powers that be if the price was right.. But what I did think on the plus side, that we had decided to look aboard for players again. Combine a French CEO and a pre-season in Hungary ( Why else go to Hungary if not to scout new players?). If we are to stay in this league for any length of time, we will have to widen our net for cheaper, better class of player..
I think Wilson has had his day in management and should call it a day tbh. He could be good in a backroom role though must have endless amounts of contacts throughout the game.
