Would you rather be forced to play a full season with Vito Mannone (his form during his stay with us) or have Odejayi up top?
Would I be allowed to play Mannone up front and/or KO in goal instead? I mean, it's not going to be any worse, is it?
To the tune of Dean Martins "Amore". Remember Ponte end song "When the ball hits his head and ends in row Z that's Kayode". Also his miss v Cardiff in the play off at Wembley. Goalie 2 foot away from left post and with 16 foot six of space to his right, Kayode aims to the left of the keeper. !! He only had to back heel it and Nardiello was there with an open goal. Answer to the question TYK it's a no from me on either. If Mannone had tried to throw his head in his hands with us he'd have missed. Apart from his goal v Chelsea Kayode was not consistent enough for me. Now 34 Nards is with Bangor City and 35 year old Kayode was with Stockport County.
Oddjob up top. Can at least pair him with someone else. Hecky might even be able to make him into a 5 goal a season striker... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Think people are harsh about Mannone. He was 19 years old and played two league games in eight days for us and only two other games. Far too little football to bash him. But then Bartosz Bialkowski was bashed by our fans despite him playing just two games in four days that resulted in us getting six points.
My opinion was based on the two games I saw him play Dream Boy. He came with a good reputation as an up and coming keeper., At Preston away he came on for Colgan who was sent off and fisted the ball onto Ayemang's head for their winner and then if I remember correctly he fumbled a cross and a Luton player nipped in at Oakwell and scored the winner for them. He fumbled another shot not long after that. He then suffered a knee injury and returned to Arsenal. We "bricked " ourselves every time Luton came near our goal that day. That's why I was really surprised when he re-surfaced at Sunderland.
Odejayi resembled a footballer, he was just a rabbit in the headlights in front of goal. Mannone was a train crash from start to finish. Sent from my WAS-LX1A using Tapatalk
Bialkowski wasn't bashed by our fans in the slightest. I said he looked uneasy once and got pelted for it. Sent from my WAS-LX1A using Tapatalk
Odejayi every time - I know he couldnt score in the proverbial brothel but he was entertaining to watch Tom Kennedy or Calum Elder - now thats a tricky one
On here it was a large majority of negativity at the time. He really wasn't liked and posters being delighted when he left is probably one of the times the board has mostly been in agreement. I didn't get it because I saw six points from six and he only let in two goals, neither were howlers. Thought he did alright in his four day playing period with us.
Odejayi is the worst striker we have ever had but a shocking striker (probably) does less damage than a shocking keeper.
Tom Kennedy for me; because it's almost guaranteed Keef Hill will come knocking on the door for him soon enough!!
