Having a separate board for political/General Election threads? This worked well with the Brexit board last year. I've decided I don't want to discuss politics on here, mainly because it's a forum primarily concerned with Barnsley Football Club, and secondly it's a waste of bloody time. Who's wi' me?
Yes I 100% agree. I try not to get drawn in but I sometimes end up involved. I've mentioned it before on here because I come on here to read and discuss matters relating to BFC, football and other sport (in that order) not politics. I go on to other forums to discuss politics (specific politics forums) and I don't necessarily want to read the same opinion as I've read a hundred times previously on here.
100% agree. There are few things in the world more pointless than political arguments which go on forever with zero chance of a solution. All participants have their views and won't change them, regardless of what others say. After hours of arguing and pages and pages of posts, everyone thinks the same as before. Completely pointless. A separate forum for it would be a good idea.
Yes! The two most replied to threads are about an election and Trump... http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/forums/bulletin-board.130/?order=reply_count
Then when people vote for yes we can have the no voters disagreeing with the BBS democracy and wanting another vote until they get the result they want. Bit like the Lib Dems.
I meant it in the loosest possible sense of the term. Maybe a different word would have been more appropriate.
