I thought that, instead of discussing the most important election, arguably since 1979, we could sideline that and discuss how Halifax Town are likely to do next season?
I did this for Brexit as it was taking over the board but Supertyke wanted me locking up for life for committing a crime worse than Murder, so I ain't getting involved with it this time
It'll be over with soon and it is close season. I'm trying not to post new threads and just contribute in original ones as it can get a bit out of hand but they are very popular so are clearly what people wish to discuss. Whichever threads are at the top/on the front page are ones that people are talking about; if no-one was interested or there were other things to talk about then those would be on the front page instead.
To be honest it's not really like it was with brexit there are a few threads but nowt like it was with almost the entire first and second pages taken up
I'd expect that to happen for a couple of days on June 9th and 10th but then it will calm down again like it did with Brexit.
When there's 2 weeks to go & we are in close season & bugger all else is happening, then a great big YES
Seriously. People post what they want and read what they want. Why have a separate place for some discussions? Unless this becomes a football posts only bbs. Control, control, control.
This place is worth a visit http://www.politicsforum.co.uk/forum/ I like it a lot but there ain't much chat about BFC.
I only got four responses to my thread about Go Ahead Eagles being relegated despite having Dan Crowley on loan. What's wrong with these people?
I guess you would have also liked a separate place to post about the Manchester Arena bombing or any other topic that isn't football.
Personally I think there is a place on this forum for posts of this nature but the political posts are the same every time; several pages of the same opinion that we've already read countless times before. Stahlrost summed it up very well in his post. Conan is not calling for a ban just a separate BBS section for political posts when they start to take over the board which I think is reasonable. Most other football forums I go on have an 'off topic' section for posts of this nature.
Far from it. However, political threads are a waste of time. This was evident from the Brexit threads last year. I know how I'm voting and nothing that will be said in here will change my mind. I won't even try to persuade people how to vote because I wouldn't be successful and that's not the point of this board. Another problem is that people will start a separate thread on a topic that's already been discussed because they want their voice to be the loudest, then the board gets clogged up with very similar threads all achieving very little.
Is it really that difficult to ignore a thread you aren't interested in? I don't recall any of this "clogging up" you are talking about. Are you referring to previous versions of the board? Really what you mean is that because you've made up your mind you aren't interested in reading opposing views. That's fair enough by me.
